Cheers for the comments. I can't help think we should have held you to ransom like you held Liverpool though. Obviously KK respects players that little bit more than MON.

i personally would have sold Milner to another club just because your club is being such an ass with the Barry transfer. ive seriously lost respect for Villa now with the whole Barry thing.i'd have sold to anyone but you, luckily for you it wasnt my decision.

I don't think respect was the issue, a price was agreed that was acceptable to NUFC and the deal was done, leaving all parties happy.No comparison to the Barry saga

Maybe not a carbon copy of a comparison, as you say a price was agreed. But if Newcastle had put a price of say, 15 million on Milner's head, would Villa have paid it? Don't be stupid! Villa priced Barry out of a dream move to Liverpool as Liverpool know he is not worth around the 18 million mark. Thats where respect comes in, NUFC respected Milner's desire to move and agreed a price that they thought was fair.

Welsh toon, with the expection of a pre- season game where he initially came in for some abuse albeit by the end of the game he was applauded off by the majority of the villa fans, as moving forward I don't see any issues with the fans continued support.

Don't you be stupid.18million was he worth to a club that he was contracted to. Liverpool did not value him at that figure and as such the deal did not progress.
Maybe there are some similarities in that Benitez wanted him and would have paid a fair price for Barry, and KK who did not want to sell Milner, i.e. both managers have been overruled by the owners/board
