I am worrying.............................

Premier League Newcastle United

The reason I am really starting to worry is because in 3 days, the transfer window will close and our squad is seriously lacking strength in depth.
For example;
we only have 2 real decent CB's in Taylor and Coloccini. Backup includes Cacapa and Bassong. Let's face it, if both Taylor and Coloccini were to get injured we wouldn't want to see Cacapa and Bassong partner each other in defence.

I don't have a clue who this lad is called Kamil Zayatte. Never really heard of him before.

Thimothee Atouba is most likely on his way but I am not convinced with him either. He didn't seem that good when he was with Tottenham and was deemed surplus to requirements after only 1 year in London.

I can only hope that Keegan does get it right and that he does sign more quality players such as the likes of Coloccini, Jonas and Guthrie but I am starting to lose hope as there isn't long left to move in the transfer market.

Thoughts?

I too am concerned. I am notone of these blind faith fans beleiving KK et al will get it right, and believe everything they say.
My concern is, we are 6/7 players short of a good size squad, I fear that we wont sign even 2 never mind how many we need. The window is fast closing and quite frankly, there is noone of class who is available. Added to that, I am still not sure that Owen and Martins wil stay.

Keegan has admitted he's looking for 3/4 players to come in so let's just wait and see what happens. The window will be frantic in the last 24 hours and we will pick up some players though maybe not the full compliment required.

At least we have a stronger youth set up now and they will be able to cover position in case of injury.

Tozer, Kadar, Donaldson, Carrol, Lua Lua are all good players who would benifit from a bit of first team experience.

I agree with the youth policy, however, 1/2 youth players yes not half a team, which might happen if and when we hit injuries and suspensions.
Time will tell, unfortunately time is running out.

I'm not worried. I actually believe that MA and KK are pulling in the same direction. I think KK's a little more impatient but I don't think there's any serious problems with their relationship and they both ultimately want the same thing.

We have a good enough squad to avoid relegation and, I believe, even achieve a mid-table position (9th-12th ... 8th would be outstanding). I can't believe anyone really expected much better than that this season.

I hope he brings in a few more players in the next few days but I won't panic if he doesn't. I'd rather we waited and got the right players.

Newcastle United's rebuilding is a 2 or 3 season affair.

I think we should just get behind our team and manager and enjoy the journey in the interim.
