Milner signs

Aston Villa

Really good news for Villa in my opinion.

He'll fit in nicely on the right hand side, we'll have much more shape to the team. I think MON must have known he was going to get him which is why NRC had been playing wide right rather than as 3 central midfielders.

The only thing I am a bit confused about, who plays in the centre now? You'd have to assume Barry to be first choice. Then there's Reo-Coker, Sidwell, Petrov and Gardner fighting for the other spot. I think Petrov and Barry would not have enough energy in the middle, and I'd rather see NRC there with Barry. Having said that I also think Gardner offers a very good threat from midfield. I can't make my mind up.

Gutted to have lost Milner. Villa MUST keep Barry now, then I would very much fancy them to finish in the top 5!

I too am worried why Milner would not fancy staying at Newcastle. I know going from the last few seasons, Villa are a better team, but I thought Newcastle were building something under KK. Why would a regular player loved by the manager and fans want to leave a very promising team?

Theres certainly more to this than meets the eye.

thank you pendlerichie

someone that is finally speaking the truth. MON and randy have worked brilliantly together this transfer market to bring in the amount top class premiership players they have done. i can see this current villa team maybe with a couple more additions doing very well in the near future.

I'm curious about why he MoN left the number 8 shirt unassigned..

A great buy, and great teams are about balance, not eleven Ronaldo's, as every Villa fan that was there in 81 and 82 will testify.

this represents fantastic value for newcastle united, milner is a good player but when it comes to the final delivery its just not good enough for premiership level football with 12 million gained from the sale newcastle should be able to find an adequate replacement
