And saying that they are a good side is deluding yourself. Celtic and Rangers are under-achievers who are quite happy to stay that way in a very mediocre domestic league. I don't quite understand your assertion that Barcelona are, or were at the time 'the best team in the world.' They only reached the Semi-finals and were well beaten by Man U. And Hoser the chances of Celtic upending any EPL sides are nil unless said teams put out their reserves. "

Well it's safe to say that you yourself are delusional. To say that Barca got comfortably beaten by United either didn't watch the two legs or is completely ignorant. Barca were not only injured, but they played United of both parks. They were unlucky to lose as it was a lucky Scholes goal that upended them. To say that Celtic can't upend an EPL team unless they field their reserves, how do you explain United losing at Celtic Park a couple of seasons ago FIELDING THEIR FIRST TEAM. Muppet. doh

After watching that drivel in the Super Cup, even Aalborg wont be fearing Man Utd.

Let's see what happens in the Champions league shall we? If Celtic qualify from the group I'll eat humble pie but somehow I suspect it won't be on the menu. Utd were awful tonight but this game was far from important and the way they played would have coped with anything North of the border could offer. winkeye

Zenit weren't exactly brilliant either tonight. Vs Rangers in the Uefa final, Arshavin was awesome like he was in the Euro Internationals.

Rangers at least put them under a bit of pressure and made their back line look a bit ropey at times. Tonight Man Utd only looked like scoring when Zenit stopped playing after going 2-0 up.

Zenit have gone downhill since then, yet they still looked far too good for a very mediocre looking Man Utd side. For sure Zenit wanted it more, and Man Utd might be slow starters...but the recent performances won't be scaring anyone in England or Europe.

It's pretty apparent just how much Man Utd rely on Ronaldo, and even when he comes back I doubt he'll be as committed as he was last year.

No money spent for Utd but they are supposed to be an 'improved' side since they last met Celtic? Celtic have improved more because they wont have Graveson giving the ball away.

If Villareal don't win this group I'll eat my hat.

Did you actually see the 'lucky Scholes goal'. That wasn't luck it was genius. Celtic and Rangers should campaign to get into the EPL and, who knows, in a decade they might have improved enough to qualify for the Champions league and mount a serious challenge in it.

Mr Mourinho what u meen is " its a testament to how strong the financial clout english football has"

-------------------------
Sniping, whining jealous crap. How did the top Italian and Spanish sides buy all those stars for years (and continue to do so) if they're so poor? If you look at the top stars of the last World Cup and Euro tournament, how many of the best foreign players came to England on big money transfers? I mean Zidane money , I mean Luis Figo money? And Germany is the third strongest nation in terms of revenue generated by their league, do they do third best? English teams just happen to be good AND wealthy. Accept it.
