Excellent signing for Man City. Not really a top 4 player but definitely suitable for a club like Man City.

lol, whats with these muppets bashing SWP? He is a good player and a great signing. No matter what everyone else thinks he is the biggest signing we have made in 3 years.

Welcome home shawn!

What a complete waste of three years of a young player's career, and a dreadful example of the harm that can be caused by a club that has more money than sense. Chelsea just decided one day, ho hum, we've got £20 mill to burn, Wright-Phillips seems a handy player, what the heck, we'll buy him so no one else can have him. Maybe he'll work out, maybe not, who cares if we end up losing £10 million on the deal.

The greed of players' agents shouldn't be overlooked either. An agent who truly cared about SWP's well-being would have said, "Sure Shaun, you could take the money and go to Chelsea, but there's no guarantee you'll play, and your England career could suffer. Why not stay at City where you're playing well, and go on to be the international your potential suggests you can be. And we can use the interest from Chelsea to try to get your wages on the level you really deserve."

------------------------------------------

You are talking like an idiot, for a start you do not know what was said between Chelsea and Wright-Phillips, Mourinho and Wright=Phillips or Wright-Phillips and his agent so how can you comment on that? Its more than likely that Wright-Phillips knew that there was competition for places in the first eleven and like a true professional was willing to try and fight for a place. He would have regretted not trying to play for a successful club like Chelsea!

----------------------------------------------

So, Mr. Footballreason, the source of all football-related knowledge,

How's Wright-Phillips doing since he left the Chelsea bench?

I'm a Birmingham fan but I'd just like to say I'm so happy to see Shaun back at Man City and playing first tram football. It's great to see talent not being wasted at a club like Chelsea and seeing him use it at Man City. And todays performence shows that, great signing. Good luck for the season.

Evening Salke - well you got your prediction 1/2 right! (TBH I ws also expecting a draw)

I reckon he's on the fringe of the England team, but on present form (England's that is) - so am I.

As I said before - hope you enjoy the rest of the season - I'm delighted to have the headless chicken back

biggrin

Robinho signs for City. Looks like it's back to the bench for SWP. He just can't catch a break.

Salke - we'll agree to disagree on that one.

Some players are more suited to certain teams (Shevchenko, Rebrov, Kevin Phillips to name a few). Perhaps SWP is one of them.

Time will tell, but with recent events, maybe he has joined a top 4 team (next year, will be more than happy with UEFA Cup qualification this year!)
