Positives and Negatives

European Football Arsenal
comment on the article

Postives
1.Through to Champions League
2. Walcott answered critics, proved he is not just a super sub and can perform from start and was rewarded with first full 90 mins.
3. No Injuries
4.Fabregas back getting some match time and doesn't seem affected.
5.Bendtner- Improved as game got on was less selfish and did some good lay offs for Fabregas. Though needs match practice to improve sharpness
6. Goals from midfield something we lacked last season with Walcott's progression and addition of Nasri seems like this will increase.
7. Clean shots increases defences confidence
8.Djourou started and did what was needed one thing i love about him is he actually as height and as many people say he should be one of centre-backs and has had a few games with Gallas so hopefully forming a relationship
9. Extra money- as we know Wenger not a gambling man so hopefully now money assured will spend
10. SOng looked good as dm sat back but whenever they got near half way harassed them which is what Makelele did and is all that is required hopefully with more games he will improve going forward which is his only real weakness.
11. Pressure play- When twente tried to keep posistion we allowed them to keep it in their third but had options blocked and then when we applied pressure they usually hoofed it and lost ball we should employ this more as though they had a lot of possession had little useful
NEGATIVES
1. Wenger still belives Eboue rm he is a good right back not a midfield I would have preferred for Vela to have come on lm then eboue rm
2. Strikers looked rusty and need sharpness which is what we require, them to finsih their chances instead of 5th or 6th.

P.S Loved Clichy song never heard it but glad he is going applause also did people chant Diaby for long periods of game or was that me

I know it is too early to cry hurray. Arsenal could not beat Fulham. I am sure Fulham would be five goals past Twente.
Good to see Cesc back.

Walcott proved his critics wrong? What because he has the ability to run past slow people that have no experience against half decent teams? <doh>

The only real decent thing Walcott has done was his run against Liverpool. But until we start seeing that more often he is still not ready.

I actually think he will achieve great things (hopefully with England!) but people get carried away with young English players, especially the gooners as they don't see many of them. Same goes for Rooney.

In response to the negatives:

1. Yes I agree - Walcott is great at right mid and we can play Rosicky on the right when he is fit again, so no need for Eboue. We can sell him for about 5 million more than he is worth.

2. When Eduardo comes back I believe Wenger will be able to use the main four to his advantage and will be able to find a good striking partnership which produces lots of goals. Although, buying David Villa would have been a good move!

Walcot is no where near our expectations, he lacks consistency and it does not matter if he starts the match of come on as a sub he must be a consistent performer, trying to prove his worth to club and country. I have seen younger than Walcot take advantage of his opportunity and deliver a good performance week in week out, if you are hungry enough being a sub will not prevent you from becoming a starter.

They beat a very average Dutch team in the Champions League qualifiers and lack a bit of substance. That's their major problem.

the above is a quote by that muppet lawrenson note small l ! as if proof were needed hes a real plonker! and may i ask lawrenson with small l what would u have put if we won 1-0 10-0 or lost? you are without doubt teh biigest clown to do punditry on football, in fact as a result of your continued rubbish you spout i am beginning to despise the team with whom you played for. go away u fool and come back when u have something intelligent to say in other words naff of for u sure as hell no nothing about the modern game!

nice to see another english side through, especially at the expense of McClown

think arsenal are a bit too lightweight to make any impact on the prem or CL this season, the development of walcott will be interesting to see though

Walcott answered nothing as he was against a less than substandard team. We'll seee how he does in the PL and the Internationals. He will never meet his expectations.
