What a day!

Premier League Aston Villa
comment on the article

Where do I start? Barry? Milner? No forget i will start by saying I have actually enjoyed 606 today we are starting to see positive comments and not drivel for critisising O'Neill. The MON I Trust supporters have been proven right and yes he has left it late but we are beginning to build up a squad capable of breaking that top 4 barrier. Milner is English has played for the club before has played with or amongst the current squad we have. He will thrive to want to replace Bentley on Englands right side of midfield. We will see a player come in who can play with both feet who can score goals and has great ability at 22. Our team is still fairly young which will also stand us in good shape for the future.

Barry is now staying and what a moment would it be if come quarter to 6 Sunday night Milner gets hacked down by Dossena (milner a former liverpool target) and Barry steps up and slams the penalty past Reina in front of the holte end!

I feel if Villa bring in another striker then we will have the quality to break that top 4 barrier. Doyle i wouldn't say is the answer. Why not put in an offer for Michael Owen? Yes injury prone but still knows where the net is? If not what about a loan offer for Javier Saviola?

Anyway keep it up good banter and positive posts and up the villa. Bring on the scousers on Sunday and lets show them we can pip them for 4th! Lets Shut them up! Finally, What are your predictions for the big game on Sunday now Stevie G is out have Liverpool still got enough creativity? they will be missing their engine drive and more than likely will be playing alonso and mascharano in midfield two defensive minded players. I feel Villa could do them over with all the hype thats going on. 1-0 Barry goal.

haha, pledging future? It's a bit like attempting to leave your wife for a prettier woman who decides you're not worth it. With no other choice, you have to buy flowers and go crawling back home laugh

Like the 'dream team' but surley Gabby has to play up top? The lad is destined for big things this year...remember Dalian Atkinson anyone!

quitemanners

he didn't want to leave his wife because the other woman was better looking...it was only because she could get him into the posh nightclubs with all the posh people, everybody knows he loves his wife to bits and that the the other woman was nothing but a skaggy little tramp from the blackhole of england that is known as merseyside...ok

"Barry didn't want to leave"?

Ha! Please don't be delusional - "Want" had nothing to do with it, he had no choice and now he and his agent must put the spin on it.

So you're stuck with a guy who no longer wanted to be with you and who is has to lie about why he is staying!

For all the dissollutioned Villa fans out there, please do not think for once the majority of Reds wanted to see Alonso out and Barry in. He is a sub-standard player made to look good playing in an ordinary team. He would look completely out of depth playing in the LFC midfield, and it was never rafa's intentions on playing him there anyway, as he wanted a left-sided midfielder doh

As for all the banter about ending up in fourth place carry on my deluded friends. We may not make the top four this season but you guys will never get in because Everton, Pompey, Newcastle and Tottenham are better sides than you. Personally I would focus on not losing to sides like Stoke before you start dreaming of the Champions League. Anyway we all know that it would be a waste of a CL spot as you won't be seeded and you would be teamed up against a team from Spain, Italy or Germany which you won't win. Sorry but thats the truth in the starkest contrast.

P.S. Losing Gerrard may be a blow for LFC but don't think we won't turn up. Masch is back, Torres has opened his account and Keane is looking to. We will look to defend you out of the game and then snatch a late goal (sounds familiar don't it)

Hey...I like Villa and MON, they are a young and dynamic team but this is just my opinion. Barry was awful for England, and I am not the only one that have said this. Anyone can have an off day but he's still a class player, thats why Benitez wants him.

Yes, we struggled against SL but we are in the CL draw now, thats the most important thing. So we will play Villa without Gerrard this Sunday, and I still think we will get a result. What do you expect me to say as a L'pool fan ?! lol

O god the delussion squad is out. Gareth Barry made certain things clear this summer, firstly he wants to play CL football. Secondly he blames O'Neill for the whole charade, do you really think he's going to sign a new deal for Villa after the way Villa and their fans treated him? If he does it means that either Villa have surpassed expectations or that the CL teams are no longer interested. Let's look at facts he has 2 years left on his contract, Liverpool won't pay the (ridiculious) fee of £18 million and Arsenal won't either, he sticks it out till January and waits to see his options if nothing happens then he can wait to next summer where MON will either have to do business at a reduced price or run the risk of Barry saying I'll sit me contract out or buy my contract out. Furthermore to all the Villa fans who say Liverpool are a Gerrard or Torres injury away from being out of the top 4, I seriously doubt that but if you want to go down that line Villa are a serious injury to Young and your Gabby from a relegation struggle. One good season in 10 years and you think you're a Champions League team laugh do it for 3 years and I'll take you seriously. To Villa fans I'll offer this bet to you £20 to a charity of your choice if Villa finish above Liverpool provided that if Liverpool finish above Villa you pay £10 to a charity of my choice (MS society), I'll take the 1st 25 to e-mail me at Bergerfan@btinternet.com.
