Wales/England To Prosper in The AI's

Chaps

We've all had a look at the tri nations over the last few weeks, what are the current feeling out there. From a Welsh point of view, i reckon we target the Boks game big time, get on a roll and i fancy a win against the Aussies as well. The All Blacks game may be down to the usual head problems but who knows.

As for England, they may surprise us, a lot depends upon the expectations on the squad. The media are a merciless lot, they will certainly build up Johnson as the "great Redeemer" but how long will the patience run for. Three convincing defeats at Twickenham and a less than convincing performance over the PI's will see the knives out and set England back for the six nations. On the other hand, the Aussies hold no fear for England and the Boks dont like Twickenham to much. NZ may be a match to far at the moment, but three wins out of four and the Chariot will be back at the front of the grid.

Good luck to the boys in white (Lions year dont forget), and even better luck to the boys in red.

Dear IRB:

We already have Rugby League, thanks.

What an utterly clueless comment.

Glosglos...
This time next year I think many of those who have been making comments like the one I've highlighted above will be feeling somewhat foolish.
Players like Du Luca, Cairns, Hook, Byrne, Tait, Capriani will be relishing these new laws. More space more ball in hand time can only be good for the game.

would be brilliant to see the likes of tait running the ball back at teams, just hope he can become a class full back!
Domestic comps for sure will prosper i completely agree with you, i think this year will probably be the best premiership season for quite some time.
cant help feeling that the changes will bring the same positive effect to the national teams, especially England. i really hope im proved wrong on this, but our pace was far too slow on the old rules, so god knows what the game plan is going to be with a fast paced match!

Porridge - "Players like Du Luca, Cairns, Hook, Byrne, Tait, Capriani will be relishing these new laws. More space more ball in hand time can only be good for the game."

How are they going to have more space? The only ELV that allows more space is the scrum offside line one. Am I missing something

This is propostrous, you can'y write articles on 606 complimenting and supporting BOTH England and Wales, it goes against what the 606 Rugby columns are here for.

God!....CYMROGLAN would turn in his grave if he knew

I can't help but think that ELV's are just an admission that 113 years ago, it was the Northerners who were right.

sticky,
taking lineouts, scrums rucks and mauls out of the game of rugby was a quite frankly madness, the rusult is a game that's reletivly entertaining but far too one dimensional.
Now union is professional league doesn't stand a chance.

The natural evolution of these rule changes will be reduced scrum numbers and or all scrums will be uncontested - the committee of former SH backs (have to be ex backs surely) that have bought these changes must continue on the same path in order to justify their exhistance.

Union and league will have little difference between them in a few years.

vino,
where do you get your info from. the current law changes happening in rugby union don't devalue the scrum, in fact the opposite.
thankfully set pieces are here to stay, along with meaningful scrums and world wide popularity.

Doesn't stand a chance at what?

The sport is doing quite well at the moment, thank-you very much.
