WELL DONE RONNIE! I am glad harold was good and truthful in defeat!

Harold didn't have much chance with some of that snooker that was played

I feel ronnie is way too hasrh on himself and must realise he is human smiley Comes a day even ronnie will fall and at this rate his mental state doesn't bode well if that happens.

Hopefully another 10 years of this. BEcause some of those come backs and clearences showed real bottle in the last week.

Ronnie's now reached the stage that Hendry was at in the early 90's. All of his opponents feel like they've lost before they even start the match. His head seems to have cleared and his confidence is at an all time high. Should be a great season from the Rocket.

When there is only about 8 tournaments a year to say Ronnie will win more than anyone aint that big a statement.

Snooker is a joke these days.

it is a joke there are so few tournaments, and in such rubbish locations too. Advertising and promoting tournaments in big cities is the ONLY way forward. is it any wonder that dumps like telford end up with half empty arenas?

Ronnie will boss this year, i feel confident about that and haven't in previous years even though the talent has always been there. Maybe he's realised that age will catch up with him eventually and is finally making the most of his ability. what ever ronnie says in interview, much of it can be taken with a pinch of salt. he is in fine form. higgins and maguire seem the most classy players below him although higgins hasnt exactly been flying. the likes of murphy, robertson and ding have been dissapointments and selby strikes me as more of an ebdon style grafter. snooker is crying out for a new superstar, as ronnie is the only one at the mo.

One more thing, i'm chuffed to see mark j williams provisionally back in the top 16. hope he can push on!

Does your lot know that there was NEVER more than 10 rankers in a season, and that this year we have 8 certain and most probably 9. So where's the problem?
There were more invitational ones though. And team events, doubles, mixed ... ect
Actually we have more tournaments this year than in any of the previous five ones.

yes i know that, but like you say, there were more invitational and doubles tournaments etc back then. anyway, that isn't the point. rankings were less of an issue back in the day, because the amount of top players were fewer. now, it matters more: if you happen to not hit much form in these 8 rankers ( eg. williams stevens ) you're out of the top 16. I feel if there were more tournaments with longer matches: not always a best of 9 in the first round, then the better players would shine through. I am not however excusing williams's dip in form and hope it served as a wakeup call for him to get his act together.
