time to panic

Is it time to panic?
Even though Iíve got a sickly feeling in the pit of my belly, I don't think it is time to panic or is it?

All the teams around us seam to have spent vast amounts of cash, and only time will tell how much money they have wasted, I say wasted because you can bet your bottom dollar that half the signings villa, spurs, pompey, man city, west ham and newcastle have made will not live up to the hype that surrounds them.

Where as we or should I say DM has brought in quality at a very good price and players at the right age.

I hope these are the reasons we haven't signed anyone yet,
1. DM will not settle for second best
2. He will not pay over the odds for dross
3. He's a tight jock who likes getting value for money

I think the day for panic isn't here yet, don't worry I have not got blind faith, the day for panic is when we start being linked with old over rated players past the sell buy date.

The next 48 hours is pivotal not just for this season but, best case put pressure on a weak looking Arsenal (who imo could struggle to hold on to 4th spot this season) to worst case DM contract dragging out all season to nothing, players loss of concentration, stadium saga going on in the back ground, 1 or 2 serious injuries, and us descending the table.

With Mark Hughes, Redknapp (should be England boss) OíNeil or looking like the real deal and with money to spend now is not the time we can afford not to compete.

Fingers crossed by Thursday life will be looking up.....

I remember that - Moyes said he was in touch with Owen and Owen made it clear he was not interested in Everton at the time. That was the same time Moyes then went for Kuyt at £10m and Feyenoord rejected it, only to ironically sell him to us for the same price. I am sure Newcastle were in for Kuyt too and he rejected them for us, meaning both NUFC and EFC were chasing after the same two strikers at the same time.

seem to recall Moyes saying something like ".. Michael didn't feel it was th right move at the time" something like that anyway. He went to Newcastle, got injured and we bougt AJ instead.
................

Yes I think I remember that........and yes Newcastle have alwaysdreamed of being good and in fact are just average like their honours show!.......

But I would have liked him in our team. His loss. And a chance to get one over our Stanley Park rivals.

Would Owen risk the wrath of the LFC fans further by joining their arch-rivals? A few players have in the past but that would be a very risky move.

Until Owen can not get injured when running by himself with the ball, I'm glad not to have him at Everton. As for Everton this season, DM is staying which for me is the biggest signing...

yep but what ever they say about him he will score. I would liked him in our team.
Anyway.....
A couple more signings are required it will be interesting to see how much money is available for these players.

Liverbird mate......thanks for rubbing it in..

Hey, before you get on about it because I'm LFC, I'm stating what I remember and not intending to rub anything in. That's a masseuse's job. That is what I recall, because at the time I remember wanting Owen to not come back and thinking LFC were going to buy him back anyway.
