Player exodus needed?

Surrey

Surrey squad as it stands:

Batsmen: Butcher (c), Ramprakash (vc), Afzaal, Newman, Brown, Benning, Walters, Spriegel, Murtagh, Evans, Harinath, Clinton, Roy

Keepers: Batty, Wilson

Spinners: Saqlain, Schofield, Murtaza, King

Seamers: Nicholson, Collins, Dernbach, Jordon, Ormond, Tudor, Razzaq, Meaker, Saker, Jewell, Lewis, Frylinck.

I make that 31 players! Why on earth do Surrey need so many?

Decision need to be made as to who stays and who goes?

- Re-signing Tudor is a must for me as he is far better than what you have at the moment.
- Why is Ormond still at Surrey?
- I understand Clinton, Saker and Brown have been released. With the batsmen listed above Brown and Clinton DON'T NEED REPLACING!
- If you sign Blackwell surely Schofield has to go?
- What is the point in having a 33 year old spinner in Murtaza in 2XI? Why was Chris Lewis signed?
- Who is Frylinck?
- Can't Surrey produce a decent English qualified seamer?
- Nicholson is a poor overseas signing!
- I can't believe Tim Linley (a former Sussex player) is playing in your 2XI as he is rubbish!

What is going on here? Why are our county teams here to help overseas players to fitness?
Are they here to strengthen overseas national teams or what?

What allegiance does Shoaib Aktar have to any county side here in the UK? Absolutely none whatsoever.. He will sell his sword to whoever (I don't blame him for this - I do blame the greed and stupidity of county sides). This is a symptom of potential disaster for the national side and for test cricket. Why aren't our national-born and bred players being nurtured in the place of this bloke?

"Inclusion of Shoaib Akhtar will strengthen Surrey to a greater extent"

Why are Surrey even considering this man, desperate or not?

Good bowler he may nave been but how much of that was him and how much something else?

It's a desperate last throw of the dice and probably won't work. Surrey sent it's members what was in effect an apology for the teams performances this year about 3 weeks back. The biggest problem seems to be morale there are enough decent players.
I agree with the comment about all these short term signings and second rate overseas mercenaries. Someone has to stop this nonsense.

Surrey where amazing during the 90's the only problem was/is that all the player like stewart, holliake, thorpe ect all retired at the same time leaving surrey stranded then butchers tried to solve the problem quickly instead of taking his time, surrey had to get worse to get better ; the problem is we cant get much worse

Frylinck is a South African Kolpak

Clinton has been around for years and just seems to turn up for the team photo at the beginning of the year

Saker and Walters haven't progressed at all

and Nicholson is bad for an overseas player
