What did Wigan get today? Who is top of the league? How many goals have we conceded? How many have we scored? Who has scored the two best goals to date? If you know the answer please post it as there are quite a few numpties who don't know the answer.

Its a sign that you make your own luck, there were
no dodgy decisions by refs either so technically they deserved to win. Liverpool should be more settled than Chelsea as Benitez has had plenty of time, but Scolari is still new to the P.L. and will have to rely on all his savvy

I watched last week as a whole lot of Chelsea fans and others with less honourable intentions tear apart John Obi Mikel not being a finished article although he had a fine game against Pompey and how he is not the one to take the Makelele Holding Role after the MAN left. Well you saw Essien yesterday didn't you.

Essien is an attacking midfielder and not a defensive one! Yes he is a bulldozzer, Yes he is a driving man, One of our best, Yes!! But he is not the holding guy. Mikel was tutored for that role by the Special One and if you truly are a Chelsea fan you see how he plays that role well (remember UCL 06/07 against Valencia 2nd Leg) and last week.

A lot of us TRUE BLUES has sentimental attachements to Michael(s) Ballack and Essien who should be competing for that midfield role behnd the main attacker and not the holding role becuase those guys are attacking guys.

So i will call it as it is, that is not Essien's role and we must try and accept that even if it means Ballack or Essien has to be on the bench form time to time.

I look forward to seeing Mikel in that position next week.

We were not at our best today but we still won people are using todays performance to forget about last week when that was one of the best ever prem performances in my opinon the fact last year liverpool chelsea man u and arsenal all went to wigan and did not play well at all but all apart from arsenal won wigan are a hard team to pick off especially at the jjb as they try n get in your face teams like hull we culd potential win 5 or 6 cause they try n play man u played crap at derby last season but no1 put them down i see a hint of jealousy coming on

I have to disagree, Wigan should of had a penalty for the push by Cech. He was very VERY lucky to get away with that moment of pure stupidity.

good stuff...I agree with that, I always picture essien with a defensive midfielder behind him and an attacking midfielder in front (just like he used to play under mourinho)...but this is scolari's era, and scolari is known to get the best out of players so you never know...maybe essien will slowly turn into a DMF like mikel did under mourinho ...I DO HOPE SO!
