Wenger has been quoted by the BBC that he doen't expect to sign anyother player before the transfer deadline.
If this is true then Wengers experienced prem. player will be a 31 year old Manc. who is injury prone and cost 750k.
You never know with Wenger but if nobody is signed I will have felt sold down the river by his previous statements on buying a top rate player.
I have always supported Wenger but I am beginning to doubt him .

For me AW is the best manager in Premiership.
But,it really suprises me that he didnt buy more players this season.
When Eduardo and Rosicki are fit and with RVP in the team we are as good as anybody.
But worries me that we do looks like "light" version of Man U,Chelsea and Liverpool.
As soon as Fab is out,we struggle,or if Eduardo is out-no goals,If RVP is out(and most of the times-he is)-again no equal replacment.

Another thing-no strikers.
Ade is average striker, always was and always will be.
Nicolas again-good but just not good enough to win us anything.
We had a chance to get Henry back-and we didn't take it.WHY?
I always felt that with Henry and Eduardo fit we would be scoring goals like crazy.
Also enigma called THEO WALCOT.
Probably most overrated player in Premiership.
He just doesnt score goals -reminds me of Hleb(we need goals from all over the pitch, not just expect from Ade to score-he will but only like 1 in 10)

Also-no leader.
We look too soft and naive-again!
I really hope that AW knows what he is doing, but my first impresion after all those years,he intend to win leauge his way-or no way! With Man u ,Liverpool and Chelsea around our chances are slim!

To say I remeber when we didn't win anything for 20 years is not a badge of honour-I remember it and I wasn't much chuffed at the time.
We have to stay in the top 4 to maintain our finaces and indeed our players-look how many move to get CL games.

what kind of excuses is that?
We didn't win nothing for 20 years-so we should be happy with finishing second, third, fourth etc.

WE MUST challenge for Premiership,FA CUP ,AND CL every single season.
2 seasons ago we were like 20 points behind MAN U.and our season finished in 10 days when we were out in all cups..something similar happens last season.
If same happens this season-mmm...not happy!

sorry where did I say I was happy about waiting along time or that it was a badge of honour to wait 20 years. I was just pointing out that some fans remember the lean times. I want succes every year but we don't have a god given right to win everything. I would love to see a stronger team but lets not start shouting about sacking the manager etc!

Wenger recently admitted that lack of experience cost the club dire last season. Has he addressed the problem?

Let talk figures: It's fair to assume that Arsenal, before selling or buying, have £30m to spend on new players.

We all agree that you can easily pick 4 or 5 players in last season's team to get rid of and raise a modest £30m. Total = £60m.

With £45m you can recruit 3 experienced players - age 25 to 28 - from within the EPL. Pay each £80k a week, at least in the 1st year, that's just over £12m.

These 3 players would very likelyhelp the excellent team of last season win trophies i.e. £££m more into the coffers, much more than what they cost. Forget resale values.

Restart the process again next season and you are guaranteed at least a cup a season. No need to get into huge debts.

The problem might just be to find buyers for some of the flops.

ello arsenal fans, whats the situation with vela? i would have thought he could start with fabregas.
or do you reckon he's not tough enough? and do you reckon a 4-5-1 would give better cover at the moment?

"...running club like a business...". This is a very misguided view. Arsenal is a football club first and then a business. You have to satisfy the fans first - that's where the £££ come from - and then the shareholders. Not the other way round.

Sometimes I wonder whether, for financial reasons, Wenger and the board are content with Arsenal just being in the so called 'top 4'even without winning trophies.

I am inclined to agree SuperArseneWenger, are we just leaning a bit too much toward being a business forgetting what we really are, as you say a football team/club that the fans are wholly interested in. Fans arent really shouting their heads off for Arsenals priority to be making money, they leave that to the financial whizz kids in background and on the board. Fans want to turn up usually 60000 worth pay their dough thereby creating a vast amount of money leaving it to the financial wizzards to buy, sell, invest or manipulate. The fans want good football from their team otherwise they wouldnt be there with 'good' covering a multitude of desires like entertaining, skillfull and the squad giving their utmost with the manager doing the same. I dont want to hear that we may be the richest club ever but our football is boring and we havent won a thing for years. If that is the case all we will see is the so-called shareholders happy, the fans unhappy and the 60000 increasingly dwindling away. Anyway folks I am living in hopes and I guess I will never stop supporting Arsenal come what may but I can only speak for me.

Akira 3333 I did not call anyone an idiot (only said Hakim is out of his mind) since you do there are words I can use about you that would bar me from the 606 and therefore I would leave that to your imagination. Look at the league tables since AW arrived and what he has won. Now, you are the idiot.
