LondonsFinestClub,

That just about sums it up, Fulham wanted it more and Arsenal were definitely NOT at the races.

i would suggest we are not being told the whole truth about the finnacial situ. perhaps the cost of the new stadium is about all that can be stretched to in order to safeguard the future of the club at the mo.

AW it seems, says he has cash to spend, but he is spending it on youth, one, they are cheaper than so called established players, and two, they should, I SAY SHOULD (with serious reservations ) be in it for the LONG HAUL!.

on a finacial note: as long as we are " in with a chance " of trophys, eg, we click etc, and at least qualify for the CL then perhaps this is all we can realisticly expect for a few years to come.

regardless of wether we finish top or 14th those of us that follow the Gunners, will continue to do so, as that is the hallmark of support as is shown by other teams in the PL who dont win etc but still their supporters love their clubs etc and do not jump ship! as none of us like these " glory boys " on these threads at all!!

having said that AW could well go come the end of the season, i personally hope he stays as its a future Arsenal are building both in terms of the team and the finnances, we have to stick with it and yes be prepared for some losses and perhaps another trophy less season and as someone said who knows struggling to achieve 4th.

be that as it may we are, or should be, in it for the long haul, and yes AW will face stick! no doubt about that, but i think he's man enough to deal with it.

its early days, but the 1st 2 games do not bode that well, as we are perhaps going to struggle. time to face the facts, deal with it, or move on!.

and well done Fulhamok

To teh muppet who said "that is what your get when you field foreigners" you an incredible buffoon. 15-20 years ago when Arsenal had 100% blued eyed britihs bulldogs playing for them they still lost to some lower teams. You need to be more inventive in your excuses.

Back to the game. We looked disjointed. Yes we need Fabregas,Diaby and Rosicky back. But common lads its only the second game.Once we get our rythmn back watch the gunners. Also people should lay off Gallas!!

I've been a gooner since 1970. Yes still loyal, but how much more of the same spill are we going to get from Arsene " We can win it this season.
???

Why oh why did we award Adebeyor with an £80k contract a week. I rather give it to a Nun's home.

Why did we let our beloved Thierry go, Why. A natural scorer guarenteen results. Do any of our young player admire Adebeyor like Thierry.

We need a striker, strong midfielder, and a new centre back. Pires, 10 - 15 goals, Freddie, 10 + who can score like these guys, answer, no one.

I cannot for the life of me understand why we did not off load Adebeyor for a lower price. Lucas Poldolski in the Euro finals was a revelation for Germany, so was David Villa for Spain. Splash the cash. Players like Theo, Nasri and Arron are not going to learn or be guided by what we have at present. I fear a very dissapointing season and maybe not even finishing in top four this year.

REGIME CHANGE I DECLARE!!! Its now due to have a new owner take charge. The present board are too weak in taking any diciplinary decision againgst AW poor performances. Its time Usmanov makes his move, where AW will then be given a target and when he cant rediscover the talent that made him a great Arsenal coach, then he would realise his time is up with the club. Football is about winning games. You dont play beautiful football at the expence of winning, rather you win then compliment it with beautiful football. How AW does not know this is quite amusing. Its time he realises he is not indespensible, the likes of Jose and Capello who have achieved more titles are examples.
As an Aresnal fan having to bore the pain of not wining any competition for 4 years on the trot is disheartening, and to see so early in the season that this might be year no 5 on the trophyless count is unbearable. The club needs change, and this change should be effective from the top for any real success. I will be the first to congratulate those at the helm for their past success, but they have to be bold & smart and do the right thing by stepping down b4 disaster stirkes in this our beloved club

i love arsenal so much and AW even more.but he's begining to disappoint me. first with his decision to make gallas captain last trip and maintain him again this season.when the guy is not even clearly on top of his game.not to talk of his leadership skills.
wat is wrong with grroming talent and buying one or two good hands when u need them?
AW is being an ass and its abt time we told him so.

Big fan of Wenger's, but his philosophy of buying young, almost unknown players is going to cost him and Arsenal.
He should have bought about 4 experienced players over the last couple of years.
If the problem is finance (can't afford big transfer fees or the wages) then Arsenal have no chance of silverware.
