i said before the prem i was worried about us giving to many penos away in pre season well it looks like we have crried this into the prem games so now its 2 in 2 which is awful peno or not they are having them an they shouldent even be getting into a position to have them

people who said our defence is solid is completely wrong as we have a lot of room for improvement and as a team as im tired of us coming out the blocks to late we should hit them straight away

however i hope mon is giving them a right go at as they have done nothing today and they should come out for the 2nd half with the hunger for us to win the game

stoke 1 villa 2 i hope

Hey Jonny-any team that has Zack Knight in it's squad deserves all the ill fortune it gets!

I was at the game today and was gutted the Villa lost. But we deserved nothing from the game as we played very badly. Every player was well below par, Luke Young and Shorey are not good enough, Reo-Coker and Petrov are useless. We only seem to tick when Agbonlahor and Young are on fire, and that wasn't the case today. Stoke went at us from the start and fully deserved to win. The Stoke fans were amazing today, sang all game, I wish Villa could create an atmosphere like that at home!
Disappointed with such a poor performance in my last Villa game before moving abroad!

Where did Stoke drag up some one like Creswell-is a full time painter or a janitor/ he surely is not a professional football player. He is an embarrassment to the game at this level-there should be some guidelines that prevent dross like him from being promoted with the team and thereby they should remain within the division their skills reflect. For Creswell that would be sunday morning pub games. a dreadful embarrassment for the premiership that he would ever be on TV shown outside of his village never mind his country.

Lets be honest here...Villa were not at the races yesterday and its an insult to Stoke to say they did not deserve it. We have to tighten up defensively...we have conceded 5 goals in 2 games and that simply is not good enough.
As for the Barry saga , i think he needs to be given some gardening leave till the transfer window closes so he can get his head right.
All in all we did not cover ourselves in glory yesterday and got what we deserved....nothing !

No wonder Barry wanted to move on to bigger and better things. The display was dreadful and you are keeping him at this no hoper club against his will.

Let him move and have a chance of winning something this season.

Aston Villa the mid-table pretenders... top four? Nothing short of 100mill spent would even give you the slightest chance.....

2 matches played, you have already dropped 3 points on us - lolsmiley

MoN is reportedly been directing his attention to Wenger now, saying the exact same about Wenger as he did about Benitez
Keep away from Barry he is mine, mine etc
(Im begining to think he may have some sort of hidden adgenda with Barry).

Joking aside, it just points out that maybe, the blame of the transfer situation with Barry has a lot to do with MoN, because the exact same thing is starting to happen with Wenger now.

Quote of the weekend, was from one of the commentators yesterday - "Maybe some of the younger Villa players are believing their own hype, and need to take a step back to reality".
season before last, you finished 16th, last season, top 10
It will be difficult for you to get above Arsenal this season and break into the top 4

As for Barry going to LFC.
Lets get things into proportion -
1, Barry played badley a few matches ago, and LFC transfer rumours were blamed for his poor performance, by the Villains.

2, Barry plays badley for England, the reason why we lost the first goal, and i believe the person who gave away the free kick for the 2nd - Cappello says he is playing badley because of the LFC transfer saga (which all LFC supporters thought had finished, thank god) - something that should have no effect on an international match, but apparently did.

3, Barry loses the ball yesterday, as a result the oposition score and win 3-2 - probably down to the LFC saga, or even now, MoN will start saying its down to the Arsenal transfer saga - he is already having a go at Wenger.

One must ask - Is there a pattern here?

As a LFC & England supporter, Do I want Barry at my club - Only as a team member, he is not the 'key' we are looking for but would make a strong addition, if its to replace Xabi Alonso - the answer is simple - No Way

For £18mill, the answer is simple - No
I cannot see how Barry is worth £18mill, especially off his last few matches, looking at them alone, he would be worth no more than £10mill
Wenger wont pay it
LFC board wont pay it (thank god they are not that dumb)
Rafa isnt interested in the money side of things, he wanted the player, and the rest was left to the board.

I couldnt see MoN paying that sort of money for him, as the maximum transfers he has done all season were to about £7mill, I couldnt see him spending £18mill on Barry - but i can see him holding out for as long as possible, which is strange because if he holds out to late, then he wont have time to get a replacement for you, if Barry goes.

I think its 1 week left before the transfer window closes, we will just have to see what happens.

Worrying theme with the penalties and last minute goals. Hopefully getting all our rotten luck out at the start of the season.

Defence still needs a lot of work but they're still learning to play together and we'll soon have Cuellar coming in to provide competition.

It's a shame that whenever there's a fairytale finish to a game we always seem to be on the receiving end of it rather than vice versa but i expect MON will get the team to bounce back. Might be a rough few weeks though as Liverpool are up next in the league and will probably sneak their usual win. Probably with a penalty in the last minute.

amazing isn't it...ten days ago we were all saying (well most of us) the defence is sorted all we have to do is look after our attacking options and top four here we come...oh how opinions change in such a small period of time
