I'll give you an example, Kauto Star got beat in his last race by Our Vic. I certainly think the horse was below his best, my personal opinion is that come the 5th/6th run of Kauto's "season" he is not quite tip top as he is around Christmas time. Or the defeat to Monet's Garden over an inadequate trip. I think Kauto Star is a fantastic horse and excuses can be made for his defeats, however you had none of it and these defeats to you showed he was by no means a great horse. I don't understand now why excuses can be made for one horse, New Approach, and not another. For what it's worth I do believe that New Approach is a horse who is still capable of very good things if all things go his way, as I do Kauto Star

poppypauldan (U12245879) posted Aug 24, 2008 Where are all you New Approach fans coming from? Immediately after the Derby i stated on here that New Approach was a very mediocre horse. The Derby was won in a virtual snail pace time, more than 4 seconds outside the record, now he has been well and truely beaten, plus the Derby form is a shambles, how does that make a fine/great horse? Are you watching racing from " Luckskin Downs" ?
