Well done Sarah,on a topsy turvy day,her emotions must have been in turmoil, she had previously beaten the Mexican twice before.
The winner today was sport, the Chinese for conceding they made a mistake and Sarah for her bravery.

If all of you were so righteous as you claim to be why not praise the judges for acknowledging they made a wrong and corrected it. Everyone here is acting like they are perfect.

Sometimes you get decisions to go for you and sometimes you dont e.g Boxing. Its part of life so just deal with it.

In response to salamsm, the judges have been praised - though it was the committee rather than the judges who acknowledged the error. The meeting of judges led to the mistaken decision. What's harder to praise is the decision to withhold the announcement in Mandarin until just before the semi-final, ensuring an angry and antagonistic crowd response. Accident?

Sarah Stevenson acted like a spoilt brat straight after the bout, throwing her arms and pointing at judges. She then made the Chinese girl uncomfortable with her unsporting body language and poor handshake while still muttering. Then more or less accuses judges of cheating in her interview. Then holds a raging protest lead by her Team administrators bringing the Olympic spirit into disrepute. Very embarrassing. Then further complains that she couldn't win the semi cause of inadequate time to settle herself. Then gets multiple painkilling injections to her ankle injury to win at all costs.

She deserved bronze, yeah Top class sportsmanship. smiley

Yep nice one EPOfreaks, ever trained for four long years to watch some incompetenet judges miss a direct hit?.
Perhaps she should have gone over and thanked the judges for their stupid mistake.
You sir are an absolute idiot

EPOfreaks, rules are there to be followed and they Team GB did just that. Why would you say that someone call someone actions ‘disgraceful British sportsmanship’ if they protested as set out in the rules written by the WTF and the IOC? Would you rather that Sarah turn to the referee and kick him in the head? Are you one of these people that would eat out at an expensive restaurant and still say the meal was great even if it was not? We need to highlight problems in our sport so we can look at fixing them. Taekwondo is a modern martial art that moves with the times. As with many other mainstream sports, its time we have video replays in the largest competitions.

You have never heard of a protest in the Olympics before? I was at the Olympics in Athens in 2004 watching the Taekwondo and I remember at least one protest. One that involved a player sitting in the middle of the ring for quite a long period of time.

So how many other hit's or non hit's (points) were protested in every bout of the Olympics in the last 50 years in Fencing, Boxing, Taekwando, Judo, Wrestling etc.

Gee let me think...none! And I'd say in the hundreds of bouts there has been misjugdements in loads of them and plenty of clear ones using video replay. But just one competitor that didn't kept to the Olympic Oath and took her own sport into disrepute in protesting.

If you want to call me an idiot again I'll be happy to report your comment.

And yes I have played sports all my life and had stacks of decisions I felt were wrong. You wear it and move on.

EPOfreaks (does the screen name suggest something you use to enhance your prowess?)

Then I'll call you an idiot.

You idiot.

LOADS of appeals have been lodged in the Olympics over the years, in LOADS of events, including the fighting sports.

It is a PART of sport. ALL sports do it.

This is why I know you've never participated in competitive sport your entire life.

EPO Freaks you are an idiot, if decsions like that stand the integrity of the Olympics is ruined.

Sarah Stevenson had trained for 4 years and the decsion was quite rightly reversed.

It was that clear and direct a hit I would not be suprised that the Chinese lady pulled out because of 2 black eyes. It caught her straight on the nose.

As a neutral to this sport if that decsion stood you would struggle to get an new blood taking it up!

I personally think that it is right that if a mistake is made then an appeal process should allow the correct decision to be made, but I would however say that the 'sporting' aspect affects other sports such as cricket. Even if the decision is wrong the batsman is expected to walk and will be fined if they act in an unsporting manner even if they are right that they should not have been given out.

The difference here is that cricketers are not given the opportunity to appeal and must just accept wrong decisions. At least she didn't kick the referee anyway.
