Benitez and Parry hold 'peace' talks

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez and chief executive Rick Parry have held clear-the-air talks.

The relationship between the two men was understood to have become strained over the club's refusal to meet Aston Villa's £18m valuation of Gareth Barry.

"Talks have taken place. It was a positive discussion and we will now move forward together," said Benitez.

Do you really believe that everything between them is now OK? Are you hopeful this will help the club bring in a few new faces? And who would you like to see arrive between now and 1 September?

It's just a meeting! doh

It's the BBC that's calling them "Peace" talks, & this poster calling them "Clear-The-Air" talks.

They probably have 3 meetings a week like this; it's not like they live in different hemispheres after all...

Why oh why is Barry a target? We have a bucket load of good central midfielders. Benitez needs a winger (a world class one- not Riera or Downing). The club has missed out on David Silva who'd have been perfect and perhaps missed him because they let the barry saga drag on and on

This is much-a-do about nothing. These meetings takes place at every club, week-in, week-out. It's called managing a business. Barry is over-valued according the owners. The Manager disagrees but can't get the OK. END! We move on.....

While other managers are busy searching and buying players to strengthen the squad, RB is made to play truce with the Liverpool board. WHAT A JOKE!

Benitez has become a real whiner and must learn to keep his comments on the inside of the boardroom. It dosen't help the players or fans when we have this constant bickering in senior management. It really undermines Liverpool FC and he needs to be a lot more professional.

Whilst these two were playing truce, Wenger has come onto the stage and is about to move in on Barry. Nice going LFC. The other 2 clowns (H & G) must be dining some other manager to take over from middle of this season or maybe by October.

Rafa, is now a twice bitten fool. There is something sinister here. Daggers are out for Rafa's head and he does not even know it. Parry is undermining his integrity. Parry has had enough time on his hands to sit down with Rafa to make amends prior to this new season. Why now?

Rafa has not shown any interest or made public sensation for challenging the title. This is the turning point.

Anyone think I'm wrong here. Watch this space!

obviuosly saving face... is it important... no, just a little embarassing and therefore not the traditional LFC way sadface

sign a new winger, get rid of the Yanks and then maybe Barry is still on the cards!!

players are more important than Directors... and the integrety of LFC is all that matters!!!
