According to cricinfo, The second sample had 5.4 mg of nandrolone while the first had 6.2 mg.

Surely this has to be the end of the road for the promising Pakistan fast bowler.

Banning Asif for two years is no good. They should let him play without paying him a penny, donate any award he wins to a charity and do not count wickets he take to his international statistics.

yaar its the senseless, brainless, gutless, no balls having pakistani cricket board, who have got no clue.

they ban shoaib for 5 years, trying to make it look like their in control of the whole situation...

...then that ban is later reduced to 18 months..

...then later on, there is no ban and he only has to pay a fine which they're stil going to court about.

im pretty sure he wont even have to pay a fine

how much more ridiculous can you get.

Quite agree. The guy has got caught cheating twice. Let's now get the formalities over and move on. But pity, it might have been quite a good career.

I can't see how he can get less than 2 years. With cricket in it's current state he could get anything from a lifetime ban to a knighthood.

For those who are regreting the loss of his "talent" you might want to ask yourself how much of his talent could be attributed to artificial sources.

I doubt any action will be taken as the players are bigger than the PCB. The situation with Akhtar has shown the PCB to be the joke that it is......

Well, it seems as if Asif will wait a little longer....

After the bombings in Mumbai, his case was postponed again.
