yes as littlesense sais The value of something to Ronnie differs thats the nature of the beast and being unpredictable meens no point trying to predict his state of mind or thought process prior to a tournament......i have no doubt if Ronnie Felt like seing his children rather than defend his world championship thats exactly what he will do...

I cannot see snooker as a proffesional sport in 10 years time if these clowns carry on. There has to be major reform from the top down.

WSA are a bunch of retards. It's not as if snooker is bursting at the seams with back to back tournaments. There is loads of space in the year to fit new tournaments in without clashes, even with the premier league going on. They somehow managed to screw it up, again.

Sadly, you are missing a point - the Premier League is a micky mouse tournament that has little prestige with the players - it is merely a money making facility - no problem with that.
However, tournaments have priority and at least this will mean the beginning of the end for Barry Hearn, who cheapens sport by throwing money at it. I know that sounds like a contradiction in terms, but name me anybody who would put the Premier League as a major tournament.
World Championship, UK Championship, Grand Prix, Masters (even though that is not a ranking event!!) etc etc - the Premier league would come a long way down the list. I couldn't even tell you who the current holder is - Ray Reardon??

Ronnie O'Sullivan - who rates it in his top 4 tournaments to win each season. You obviously don't have sky enanjay otherwise you'd enjoy the Premier League. Certainly the darts equivalent is seen as huge.

The point is many top players will not be at the new event (not the players fault) and this could have been avoided if the WSA had half a brain cell between them.

Moreover if Ronnie doesn't compete either then the event would be a total farce.

They say snooker is popular with adults but not with the younger generation, WHY?!? Im a teenager and I love the game - I think its one of the best games (sports - depending on what you call snooker) invented so why is everyone else saying its rubbish?

Because they're idiots. I was hooked from the age of 6. When you get the bug it's for life and if you think it's boring fair enough, go enjoy some other sport but don't sl ag it off because you don't know what you're talking about.

Snooker is a very small sport and this why this sort of thing goes on. Can you imagine if The US Open tennis championships lost 4 top line players as they were playing an exhibition in Germany? It would never happen. I think snooker is on the way out.
