HIs secret is: STRONG SET MIND, TALENT, WORK OUT ETHICS, KIND & HUMBLE PERSON WHILE WINNING OR LOOSING, PASSION FOR THE GAME AND EACH POINT EVEN IF IS THE FINALS OF SW19 OR A SMALL MATCH IN A VERY SMALL TOWN WITH A PLAYER NOBODY HEARD OF, AND TOTAL LOVE FOR THE GAME.

At 22 he has done more for tennis than anybody else before him except maybe the great Borg but Borg never won a gold medal.
Truely a worthy #1 who is excited to watch and who has grown from a brute player into a classy stylist in all facets of the game and all type of courts.
He will carry the banner as high and far as the great Federer has done. Raffa is a WONDERFUL AND BRILLIANT ambassador for the game of tennis all over he world.

Agree with your attributes summary Elche - is that where you're from BTW?

Nadal just doesnt give an inch - every match is a battle for those against him. If you're not feeling up to it he will roll over you. His aura of winning is huge and that counts for alot. But only he knows what truly drives him.

Congratulations to RAFA, well done. An all round champion. This is great for his fans to at last see him achieve the No. 1 ranking, with icing on the cake "a GOLD Medal". Well done Rafa. Long may we enjoy your passion for the game (win or lose)

Nadal could be the reincarnation of the Minotaur, the Greek mythological creature who was half-man half-bull.

At this moment it would take a demigod like Theseus to conquer him.

Nadal!Nadal!Nadal! Will there be any championship he wouldn`t win here onwards. The improvement he has shown is simply phenomenal.Nadal is such a player that he attracts even a novice of tennis by his game. His game is such that Wordsworth and william Shakesphere would have loved to script beautiful poetry.People like us have to grope for words to describe the beauty of his game. The desire, matchless power, Himalayan patience, court covering is simply sublime. Despite being almost inconquerable RAFA is very modest and downtoearth.A very humble person that to the age of 22.His oncourt behaviour leaves many people bewildered. He never loses temper, never shouts at himself even on losing match points as seen in the final of Wimbledon.I can write pages after pages about his endurance of facing and losing to players like Berdych,Gonzalez, Youzhney .Even after losing to these players repeatedly he did not lose faith in his game. And this patience made him the champion what we see today.I think this gold win comprehensively proves Rafa has mastered all the players in the circuit.Tennis lovers here onwards can see Rafa game as treat to watch.

This is what he said about his victory:
“I arrived very tired,” he said. “The reason probably I won this title is because I have a fantastic time here enjoying a lot in the village. That was amazing experience for me. Always was a pleasure to know new people, no?”

Congrats to Rafa and all other Medal winners!

He is so cute. I just love him to bits. I first saw Rafa about 4 years ago doing a clay tournament in Marseille I think. I knew he would be no 1 one day and I'm so glad he's done it. Such a nice boy.
