Sunday's SPL action - Dundee Utd v Celtic

Scottish Premier
comment on the article

Tannadice is the venue for the final Scottish Premier League fixture of the weekend.

Hosts Dundee United are looking to bounce back from an opening day defeat at the hands of Hamilton Academical while visitors Celtic travel to Tayside off the back of a 1-0 win over St Mirren.

The last time these two sides met, Celtic clinched the championship on the final day of last season, courtesy of a 1-0 win.

Since then both sides have made various changes to their squads.

Craig Levein has added strikers Warren Feeney, Roy O'Donovan and Francisco Sandaza to his player pool while another forward, Noel Hunt has left the club.

Celtic's most recent signing, Glenn Loovens, is unlikely to feature in this match but winger Paddy McCourt could make his debut.

Let's get going with some top-quality chat.

I'll be providing live updates throughout the afternoon, so send me all your rants and raves as the action unfolds.

As always, you can listen to BBC Radio Scotland's coverage of the match via the BBC Sport website and video highlights will be available on the site from midnight.

Far happier Arab here after that, a far superior performance to that from Monday. Unlucky with the Celtic goal, yet another deflection goes against us. But we bossed the game in the second half and a superb bit of poaching from Sandaza.

But yet again, a referee dons the Wenger glasses when the OF concede a stonewall penalty. That's three times in four OF games that's happened to us, that's not just bad luck.

Calm down BristolCity_1985, I have admitted we get more decisions given in our favour than the teams outwith the OF, is that not enough for you? sounds like you have a problem with a specific ref more than anything.

Two weeks into the SPL season and by all accounts some excellent football has been on display. When we look at the quality of the weather and the pitches, does it not make you wonder if the standard would be maintained by playing SPL football in summer months?

I know the debate usually kicks in by about January, but I am sure that the fans are enjoying watching games and not freezing to death and the players are responding to the more conducive playing conditions.

The calendar shift has worked well for Rugby League as that product appears to be growing. I think the same could happen for the SPL.

Imagine an Old Firm derby in the middle of July when there is no English football to compete with for media coverage. It could be tremendous.

Thoughts??........
