To suggest M.S.G is still a Mecca would imply it's boxing fans/attendees treat it as their 'religious' home...unfortunately that is clearly no longer the situation.

The Garden used to be the Mecca but that was before the zillions of dollars poured into the desert and Las Vegas was born. I am a traditionalist but you have to get real and say that Vegas is now the home of 'big time' boxing.
Having said that, I do love the fact that big fights are still staged at the Garden as it still has a part to play big time.

NO2WAR oh please??? How can you possibly be offended by the turn of phrase that MSG is a boxing Mecca?

For goodness sake there's a Mecca bingo.

For my money I'd love to have gone to the fight as both fighters are heros of mine but my mrs just popped out our daughter so I'm stuck at home with a bbq beers and mates in front of setanta

MMA is trully a growing sport. but its couldn't lace the gloves of greats like Liston, Dempsey, Robinson, Marciano, Tyson, Ali, and many more. The Gracies....is all the Hall of Fame you have and without them, MMA wouldn't be MMA without them....We'll speak in 50 years. See how you get on. MSG Will always be the Mecca of Boxing despite the millions in Vegas.
