So although it is their last tournament together as a team it may not be his, if he can find a suitable partner.

Oh well I thought they where lucky to win against the Chinese in the previous round so no surprise they where defeated this time around.

I thought that Gail and Nathan played very well. If it weren't for unenforced errors I feel the Koreans wouldn't have had it so easy and may not have won. I don't know about anyone else but I felt the Koreans' behaviour, particularly in the first game, was very poor and unsporting. I see a few commentators have said this too.

Its a real shame that Emms won't end her career on a more positive note but I've got to say I've no love for Robertson.

I can't recall anyone who makes a doubles partnership seem all about him to the extent he does. Always quicker to cry in frustration when his partner missed than in acclaim when she hit a winner.

They've done us proud in two Olympics - their 2004 Silver was against all expectations and this time round they were never favourites.

They played out of their skins to beat the Chinese in the previous round and it looked like they were still recovering, but they kept battling.

Well done to them.

They played well this Olympics. They gave so much in the last match that coming up against quality opponents today was just too much.

I'm quite gutted. I'm not too clued up on their age's but I was hoping for an appearance in 2012. It's a long way off though and i'm aware of Emms' stance on retiring after Beijing.

Both are 31, Robertson is not retiring but looking for another partner to compete with in 2012.

I can`t quite get my head round this "they played out of their skins and were lucky against the chinese in the first round" view of Gail and Nathans olympics. Anyone who has ever been involved in a sporting contest knows that the difference between winning and losing can be a piece of luck at the right or wrong times.
We are a funny nation, we consistently build people up and set them unrealistic targets and if or when they don`t reach that target we give them dogs abuse. i am no expert on any of the olympic events but enjoy watching and cheering on ALL Brits no matter if they win or lose. The only thing we can ask is that they try their best and sometimes trust to good fortune. Emms and Robertson did well and lets not forget that with a slight change of fortune we would be writing about a definate bronze medal and possibly consecutive olympic finals.

even though they got knocked out the final was still shown on the BBC, unlike the Womens hockey final!!
