Congratulations Emma!!! If ever anyone deserved a medal after their exertions and effort in the road race it was Emma. A pretty phenomenal time trial which had some of the world's best riders trailing in her wake. I really am chuffed to bits this morning for Emma - as much as i was for Nicole on Sunday and i'm still on a high after that!! The ladies still leading the way for team GB!!

got up this morning and logged on to cyclingnews to see how well NC had done - and was very pleasantly surprised to see Pooley's result - FANTASTIC.

Jez, I can see it as top story on my version of the cycling site. Might be you are on the international version rather than UK? All the Olympic stuff is being filed under the olympics site at bbc.co.uk/olymics which should be your best bet during the games.

Servus Alex,
I used this link:

.... this has since my post been updated to show our ladies' success (as well as Fab Fabian)!!

Track cycling starts on Friday ?
Fingers crossed !

BTW, do we have a chance with MTB medals (Beckingsale + Co) ?

Flippin' 'eck! That's the least you deserve after helping Nicole to gold. Brilliant, well done. Gold in London?
Right, let's put the girls and ladies on the bikes, they can win gold medals for UK. I have just bought my 3 year old niece a starter bike (the one without pedals) for her birthday, so she can learn to balance whilst rolling. Her older sister mastered it within 10 minutes. May be in 20 year's time they can win medals....

Am i the only one who thought Pooley had a better chance of a medal than Cooke? It was briefly discussed on the BBC but i do think they missed a trick when building up Cooke too much, Pooley was who they should have been concentrating on - especially as she went earlier so better ratings!

She wont win a medal in the TT in 2012, its too flat.

Emma Pooley's time almost seemed like a freak result as one by one, all the others failed to match even her split time, by huge margins. Jennie Longo rode supremely, but KRISTIN ARMSTRONG was the only one even better prepared than Pooley for this gruelling discipline. Awesome on the downhill, Armstrong turned a slight deficit into a decisive margin which truly deserved gold.

Felicitations to the diminutive Ms. Pooley for a gutsy, spirited ride on her silver machine. bubbly

Just read the "Project Pooley" thing by Brailsford. What an achievement for her! Was the best silver of the games undoubtedly and I hope she gets gold next time round.
