Your verdict on Lawro's predictions

Premier League
by Paul Fletcher (U1816326) 12 August 2008
comment on the article

So, Lawro reckons Chelsea will win the Premier League with Man Utd second and Liverpool third.

Arsenal will drop to fourth, while the likes of Portsmouth, Tottenham and Aston Villa will all be pushing for Uefa Cup places.

Lawro has real concerns about how matters off the pitch will impact at clubs such as Newcastle and Man City, and expects Everton and Blackburn will struggle to finish as high as they did last season.

The bottom three? Well, Lawro has some good things to say about West Brom, Stoke and Hull, the three teams who won promotion from the Championship last season. Ultimately, though, he is tipping them all to go straight back down.

What do you think of his verdict on the forthcoming season?

Hammers for the drop! Even West Ham fans know deep inside that it's about time. They have a tradition of being top flight strugglers then in the second tier for a few seasons. They'll come back stronger though and be a reasonable mid table side for a while in the long term.

Hull City are dark horses and Lawro is an old shire horse ready for the "knackers' yard. We shall see at the end of the season who is right. Spurs are near the 'knackers' yard as well! Chelsea won't win the league, my money is on Man Utd. Arsenal are in cuckoo land, they have had their day. Arsene needs to get some players who are hungry to play football and not expect to win every time. Good luck everyone and may the best teams stay up

Do you expect him to get it 100% right every week?

I suppose you had Chelsea v Hull as a 0-0 draw did you?

Of course you didnt.

The spurs prediction and the West ham prediction and the Everton one made me laugh. Miles and miles off

Lawro
Spurs- top 6
Everton - maybe top 10
West ham-bottom 3

Reality
Everton- 6
Spurs- still look like they could go down
West ham- 7th

Well done Lawro

Chelsea will come in second, Manchester United will win. There is not a chance that Manchester United will lose three matches before the end of the season, anyone who thinks otherwise knows nothing about football in the UK
