Gossip column

comment on the article

Manchester dominates the newspaper gossip today.

For United it's all about who is on Fergie's shopping list as he looks for a new striker.

Will it be David Villa from Valencia, will it be Thierry Henry from Barcelona or will it be Dimitar Berbatov from Tottenham?

Or will it be someone else?

In the blue half of the city things are a little bit more serious as owner Thaksin Shinawatra tries to sort out his financial issues.

It's not just the credit crunch he has to worry about as he faces arrest warrants back in Thailand.

It didn't stop him from a spot of shopping down in the pleasant surroundings of Guildford in Surrey. It's not the sort of place I'd be headed if I was short of a few bob (or £800m).

3 blokes in a maternity ward, a Scouser, a cockney and a chinese man. The nurse comes out and says "I'm terribly sorry but seem to have lost the details on which baby belongs to which family, would you mind coming in and collecting yours?". The men of course agree and the first man in is the cockney. A couple of minutes later he comes out holding a Chinese baby, to which the nurse says "but that's clearly not yours!".

The cockney replies, "I know, but I wasn't gunna risk ending up with a bloody scouser"

Who do spurs fans genuinely and realistcally think you will sign with Keane gone and Berbatov going?
I think Bent is the main striker this year but you want someone good enough to push him dont you? and be realists for once smiley

I has the misfortune to be working very close to Anfield a few weeks ago. Luckily, I managed to park just outside the trophy free zone, so wasn't close enough to the ground
