Who's your wildcards?

Ryder Cup
comment on the article

Now that Sergio Garcia (definitely) and Justin Rose (probably) have sealed their spots in Europe's side, who would you pick as your two wildcards?

Will it be Colin Montgomerie, for so long a Ryder Cup talisman but maybe now running out of steam?

Will it be Englishmen Ian Poulter or Paul Casey? What about K Club hero Darren Clarke, Scotland's Alastair Forsyth, or Germany's Martin Kaymer, for so long in the running but now edged out?

Or would you take Luke Donald despite his injured wrist?

And what do you make of the top eight automatic qualifiers in the American team?

They are: Phil Mickelson, Stewart Cink, Kenny Perry, Jim Furyk, Anthony Kim, Justin Leonard, Ben Curtis, Boo Weekley.

Paul Azinger's got four captain's picks - who would you choose?

How can you leave Monty out? Surely he is Europe's talisman? So he may not be on the best form at the moment, but he always comes good in the Ryder Cup. After that its any one from Poulter, Casey and Clarke. I think I'd take Poulter.

I dont think anyone really wants to leave him out but... looking at the facts it is obvious there are other players eligible to for 'Captain's picks' who are currently in form and playing better than Monty. These include Poulter, Casey, Kaymer etc.. The final ten is not clear yet with possibly the last three placings still up for grabs. The KLM is on this coming weekend- interesting to see how it works out.

Darren Clarke for sure, and anyone other than Ms. Doubtfire.

"Talisman" - on that basis why dont Brazil still pick Pele and Argentina Madonna. Though mabe Azinger will surprise us by giving Jack and Arnie picks ???

Get real it's retirement for Doubtfire.

Amazing decision for him to miss Dutch Open - he hasnt played since his 84 in the PGA - surely if he really wants to get a pick he should be doing all he can to convince Faldo to pick him ???

Please pick fat Colin, we would love a laugh. But seriously, pick anybody, Europe will win. Most USA golfers do not care enough and are not good enough anyway. The Ryder Cup is the Carling Cup except in Britain. Most golfers here have the same level of interest as Britons will about cycling and rowing 5 minutes after the Olympics.

You know I would love to disagree with you..... but you're right on the money..... give it that 5 minutes and most people will go: Bradley Who??

Paul Casey should definently not be picked he decided to stay in America for the fedex money..he had a far better chance of qualifying on the moneylist in europe. he has no chance on the world points list.

At least he's still playing golf - what's Doubtfire done since his 84 in the PGA - moped and eaten more doughnuts maybe ?

I'm amazed that people are prepared to leave Casey out as a pick! I think the guy oozes class and I'll never forget the way he battered Furyk in the 06 singles, probably USA's most consistent Ryder Cup performer along with Cink maybe...

After the KLM its hard to see Clarke not getting the second pick, he's clearly back in control of his game, and he handled Stenson, another class act in my opinion, with consummate ease!

Bit harsh on Poulter possibly, but I really can't see past Casey and Clarke now as the picks, and I'll be delighted if that's how it turns out!
