Really looking forward to the next stage of the tri nations, the Boks should never had lost to Aussie but that the way it goes. Boks should win but not by much. Boks need to be more ruthless this time around. What do you guys think.

whiteryno, definitely it's not your fault smiley as I said earlier - no matter - SA won fair and square as you play just what is in front of you.

Other main contenders like New Zealand, Australia and France have just themselves to blame for failing reaching final showdown with South Africa, period.

As for tomorrows game, I still believe NZ are favourites to win. My guess, ABs by 10+.

However, "but is it our fault if the AB's almost never MAKE it to the final?" is a bit harsh, as New Zealand, if my memory serves me right, have reached 2 finals from 6. It's hardly almost never. winkeye

Latvian, I'll concede that the All Blacks have had the better of us since our re-admission to sport in 1992. That's clear enough to even the most biased supporter. However, before that it was a different story. Up till the implementation of the sports boycott the Springbok win/loss ratio was better than that of any of their opponents - including NZ. Things have been rocky at times in the new era - apart from occasional big losses against NZ we also had shockers against Aus. once and England once - but political interference played a role almost every time. Now once again we have to face this threat from our politicians b/c of the inclusion of Fourie du Preez and Percy Montgomery. The team is once again "too white" for some of our idiot politicians. Always when the Boks do well, they have to suffer this kind of onslaught from people who want to drag them down to the level of some of our other sports teams. That's one of the reasons why I think the Boks have done amazingly well to win the WC twice and consistently remain one of the world's best teams. We'll see tomorrow... anything can happen.

whiteryno, no doubt, Boks always have been among the best and shame they have backstabbing politicians who will do everything - and I mean EVERYTHING - to get revenge for apartheid past by constantly trying cleaning out whites in Bok team whatever it takes, even killing golden goose.

You are right, before 1992 Boks had better ratio against anyone, including the ABs, majority of the games were played in SA though, but no matter. I agree with you in principle - before 1992 Boks were dominant force in the world (along with the ABs).

Although, if I remember correctly, till late 90s or early 00s there was less (comparing to nowdays) political interference to get non-whites included regardless of merit. But maybe I'm wrong and misinformed and such strong meddlings existed right after dismantling the apartheid system.

Yes, tomorrow's game can go either way and I will not be surprised if SA win (except if they win by a huge margin). But I will not be surprised if Boks are well beaten, as ABs are more confident in the Republic than in Australia.

And yes - Boks won the World Cup DESPITE South African politicians and other revengful individuals. It's amazing how much hated White (well, maybe for his surname in the first place) managed to create winning team.

Bokforever, ABs will win and win well.

Had Carter his kicking boots, the difference might have been 30+.

Firstly well done AB's.

Evaporated is quite an eccentic word to use. It's ok, i know the Boks were testing an extremely experimental gameplan and it was still 5-0 with 15 mins to go before the Boks got desperate and Steyn had a brain explosion. Carry on feeling smug if you wish.

Saffa_88, let me be clear - I have no intention to rub salt into wounds of Boks supporters. Try to read all in context not bringing out some words and feeling offended - I suspect in these forums debates too frequently and too quickly turn into mutual slugging but DO NOT percept it by default.

If you consider any reminder like 'I told you so" as a smugness, well, I can only offer my condolences. Life is too short to feel needlessly offended any time.

Now back to business. Remember our conversation? "To evaporate" means "to dissapear". And you have to agree, SA nr.1 HAVE BEEN dissapeared you will not see SA at this spot today. Game plan, brain explosion etc. (you choose) - no matter. By the way, Carter got a leg explosion, as I have never seen him missing so much kicks at goal and ABs weren't flawless at all. So where is smugness? I do not see it, I just state the fact.

So - I told you so. I told you that ABs are favourites to win and they did it convincingly. You showed big surprise how one can not consider Boks at home as favourites. Now you see how.

Yes, ABs were just 5-0 ahead (but they should have been at least 15 ahead by that time). Do not feel offended but Boks were very lucky to stay in the game for so long thanks to ABs own many misses (just compare 2 Percy misses to Carter's plenty ones).

The same applies to "happy hunting grounds". 19-0 away is a strong enough argument if you keep in mind that Boks have been crushed (not just beaten) - CRUSHED - by the ABs 4 times in last 11 games at home. This is not enough?

Think about it.
