Morning veteran 606ers

I kind of agree with westwood...oakland hills, ahs been set up in away that, great shots were punished yesterday... one shot that sticks out for me was mike weir, he hit his shot just short of the green, but because the greens were rock hard, and the small amount of green to work with, the ball just bounced off, into the ridiculously heavy greenside rough...mike weir's reaction was off disbelief, that he was punished for what looked to be a fantastic shot.

I don't like major chamipnship courses were all you have to play for is a par (remember masters 2007)... i understand that major's should be the ultimate test of golf, but they should also be a fair test... torrey pines was a fantastic example!

Anyone agree that the PGA should soften the greens a tad?

Majors should be a huge test, with a score of just under Par ... but .... good shots should not be punished, and it's should be reasonable. If you hit a fairway and thena green.. all should be good, but if that green is too hard to hold a ball on, from a decent fairway .. then it can't be right .. can it ?

But that doesn't make it right ....

If you hit a goos shot, then you should be rewarded, or at least be given a chance to make par.. so see it take a lucky bounce ....

don't get me wrong, no major should post scores of -20, but it should be fair, no luck ..

I think J.B. Holmes will win, as he hits it really far and doesn't need the long shots in to the green.
Well I hope he does I got him at 200-1 before the start.

Watching this all thats missing are the windmills on the greens. Make it hard yes but not silly.

Great golf courses have risk reward and dgerees of punishment based on level of waywardness. This is not as Donald Ross intended
