What does everyone think about this?

I am gutted, I know hes obviously on high wages and he probably wouldnt be a first team player but he showed at the end of the season glimpses of how good he can be. He can play in numerous positions RM, LM, AM and as a Striker, so i cant understand why we got rid of him before getting rid of the players that really are dire like Quashie and Davenport first?

I am truly hoping this Ben Thatcher trial doesnt lead to anything too because he really is a shocking player and one of the dirtiest ive ever seen and i would be doubly gutted if we got him.

Anyhow Curbs must know what hes doing so we've got to trust and believe in him and lets hope we have a good season!

Looking forward to seeing a few more signings and Saturday week against Wigan!

COYI!

I'm glad to find I'm not the only one who thinks boa morta and Nigel quashie are useless so is Davenport. Bobby Zomora is more of a striker then Carlton Cole bad choice there. Anton Ferdiand is a ball watcher he be better of as a defensive midfielder his not a rio in defense I have studied him his hope less does'nt look around to see were other players are postioned. I feel sick that we are letting Freddie go. towards end of last season him and Solano were great Solano the only hammer who can do something from free kicks. Boa Morta is the second crappest player I've seen wear the west ham shirt 1st being Christian Dailly I thank Rangers we are in debt Rangers please try Boa Morta and I'll salute u's

As far as I can see this is one of the stupidest decisions I've ever seen. Curbishley (or whoever decided to end the contract) has basically cost you £6m+ on top of what you paid for him. Seems stupid to me. Ljungberg is a good player with a good reputation. Granted he is in his 30s now but he would not have been too difficult to sell.

If only Hammers could get back all the money they've wasted on over the hill players, or worse still, lazy unfit players over the last few seasons, then they would be in a financial position to be after the likes of Berbatov. I have never understood how we have always had one of the highest wage bills in the premiership but no superstars. Even the superstars we have brought through from the academy have been let go. I know the books have to balance at the end of the year (WOT?) but cutting our wage bill has to be a good start.

Solano and Ljunberg gone and in return for losing their ability and experience we have....supporters even more cheesed off than before. But thats' ok isn't it, cos' the West Ham board know that us supporters keep on supporting no matter how fed up we become. The Hammers are our passion, but to the board, us fans are there to be laughed at cos' we keep coming back for more of the same - doubt it'll ever change sadface

Freddie's a great player - versatile and experienced. Sometimes he doesn't show up for matches though, but he's getting on a bit and so that's almost understandable.
What's not understandable is releasing a player mid-way through a contract and paying a fortune to do so! Surely just keeping him and paying his wages for another year then releasing or selling him would have cost you less money and would have also kept a potentially lethal player in your side.

whitehawk625 - you've got one of the biggest wage bills in the Prem without any superstars because you've got one of the biggest squads in the Prem. Far higher than most teams.

I always wish the Hammers the best (as long as they're not playing the Gunners) because you've got decent fans and can play some great football. Hopefully you'll sort some of your issues out and get your rightful position in the top 7. Lets get this season underway already!!
