Just read that you've signed Pascal Zuberbuhler on a one year deal, then it struck me that a few weeks ago you signed Mark Schwarzer on a free aswell.Doesn't this leave you with Keller,Niemi,Schwarzer and Zuberbuhler all fighting for a first team place???Why all the goalkeepers???

Id expect Stockdale to be the number 2, Zuberbuhler to be No.3.

I dont see all this moaning over keeper numbers. Last season we had lots-Niemi, Keller, Batista, Warner.

If Schwarzer was to get injured in the first match everybody would have moaned about there being virtually no one left.

Hello Fulham boys and girls. i know a few West brom fans have already been on here talking about
Pascal Zuberbuhler, but thank god you already have 2 very good keepers keeping him in the stands.
the above mentioned Pascal is the only keeper who's made me drop my pie after hearing his name on the team sheet. a tragic event indeed.
good luck for the season Fulham.

oh what a turnip because the NON fulham fan didnt know keller had been released.

Go easy on him.

how many back up goal keepers does one team need?

Old Roy likes your new chap though as he stated years ago how highly he thought of him as a keeper so your worst keeper could be surprisingly high in the pecking order.

Don't think it is a deal worth mentioning as having 3/4 keepers seems the norm. Only thing I will say is that Fulham are signing a lot of players that don't seem much better than those in the squad already. The way forward for clubs like this is to start bringing through young players - cheap on wage bill, can transfer for complete profit. Even though Fulham have been in the top flight a while now this seems part of the club that is dire. I know that it is a risk to a point but so is signing lots of average players until the squad is bursting with over paid reserves. Take the case of Omozusi, looked raw but decent for a kid, who is now out on loan. The list for right back reads - Stoor, Paintsil, Zakuani, Hughes & Volz. Only one can play and 2 of them have been bought the season. This must be costing the club a fortune in wages.

Same goes for up front - West Ham have found a youngster like Sears from the youth side while Fulham have never gave a young striker a go since coming up (might be wrong, if anyone can name one?) but again the current squad list shows a huge amount of forwards. Healy, Nevland, Johnson, Kamara, C. John & Zamora - having depth is good but there has to be strength as well.

He was a cult figure at FC Basle and actually quite effective as Swiss keeper in Germany ...in fact hes the only keeper to go out of world cup without conceding a goal.HOwever have to agree he doesnt come off his line and at St Jacob Park 20 000 people used to shudder collectively when he recieved a back pass
That being said he organises the defence very well and builds a great relationship with the fans

Well, Collins John was 18 when we signed and put him in straight away, could be classed as one I guess.

Elvis Hammond got on a run of 8/9 matches in about around about 03/04 or 04/05 largely due to every striker being out of action.

I think in Zamora and AJ we know have a decent front line and the new 7 subs will suit us with Nevland being a supersub and EJ hopefully proving an effective sub.

I don't see why you need to sign 3 keepers in one window?
