london-swede (U12665191) posted Aug 13, 2008 Our first team had a match against Helsingborg a couple of weeks ago it was afourth round in a cup we,re a div 4 sidein the south the,re first div ,one of our players got a card for retaliation after a stampling, no problem with that. Problem was the lines man had seen the incident and was waving the flag but the ref total ignored him, thats where some of the problems are as well when they don,t talk to one another. Sad to say we lost the game in extra time 2-1 both there goals from penalties and we blew one, otherwise who knows hat might have happened.

BlueTrue2008 (U13017172) posted Aug 13, 2008 Refs are not babies... They should not be afforded silly protection... More to the point, players shouldn't be given a card for pointing out a mistake. Refs are bias, and this just allows them to exercise that bias with new powers.

london-swede (U12665191) posted Aug 13, 2008 di agree a little bit there off the pitch incidents agree with you,but on the pitch,it can be improved but alot has to start in youth teams,as i said before here we a no tolarance policy which starts at 6/7 year olds which means the ref has the power to send trainers or parents away from the pitch if he thinks thier actions are disrupting the game.

Stormbringerii (U13036252) posted Aug 15, 2008 For amateur teams a big part of the problem is the poor quality of referees. They're often old, frustrated players who just want to earn some money. Their calls are suspect and player naturally get frustrated. It's all very well asking for respect for officials, but they have to earn that respect just like any authority figure. Good refs rarely have many problems with players because as players we all know how important a really good official is.

OxfordGoonerJK (U12167577) posted Aug 15, 2008 Last time I checked they brought in the 10 yards rule from rugby a while back and then scrapped it because it was too complicated for the referee's tiny little minds to understand. posted Aug 15, 2008 But nobody really contests a free kick decision unless its around the edge of the box? So it would just end up being a penalty 9/10 times.
