Champion TrophyOne-day internationals Pakistan by MalikBrother (U11035669) 04 August 2008 Champion Trophy is likely to take place in Pakistan. ECB and CA will try their best to transfer Champion Trophy out of Pakistan to somewhere, as England clearly sound favorite to host Champion Trophy. No matter what, but Champion Trophy will remain in Pakistan as ICC has already made decision. Beside, teams like England and Australia should tour to promote Pakistan cricket. They are bound to tour in WC that will be hosting by Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka. Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

kukoo77 (U12287741) posted Aug 13, 2008 You must be stupid to think that the current Pak team can win any game. I love Pak n love the game of cricket but taking Karman Akmal, Shahid Afridi is a stupid mistake they keep repeating. No dencent opening pair No decent regular spinner Useless captain also Iftikhar Anjum or Abdur Rouf has done nothing impressive in the past.

CricketSaint (U13012663) posted Aug 13, 2008 I agree with some of what has been said till now, however, i think you guys are being a bit to negative. The last couple of years have been disastorous for the reputation of PCB and Pakistan Cricket, but i think some good has come out of all this. Misbah and Nasir Jamshed are really good finds for Pakistan. Kamaran Akmal is the worst keeper i have seen in ages. I just cannot belive we have stuck with him for soooo long, he is an absolute rubbish wicket keeper and his bating was never even close to consistant.

MalikBrother (U11035669) posted Aug 14, 2008 CricketSaint. Don't worry about your comment regarding to Afridi. I too, am neutral and beside, i hate Afridi the most. Afridi should have been kicked out of team by now. Ever since, we have Saeed Ajmal who is like another Saqlain. I don't see why not PCB drop Afridi now. He is useless with batting, but hardly consistent with his bowling even though he is good bowler. Beside, he is badluck to Pakistan no matter what. He should be kicked out. Fair enough

No idea what skills does he have which keeps him in the team. Iftikhar Anjum and Abdur Rouf what difference are they going to make.

splinter_01 (U13104495) posted Aug 19, 2008 I understand everyone's point about Afridi, he is failing completely with the bat and is not bowling as well as was before. The problem is he is not scared about his selection. He thinks his place is cemented in the side and can do whatever he wants. What the selectors have to do is to drop him completely and let him rot on the sidelines, thats wht india did with sehwag and he is now india's best batsman in the recent test series against SL. About Kamran Akmal, I know he makes mistakes and he is not a proven batsmen such as Gilchrist or Sangakara. But does anyone have a replacement in mind. Pakistan recently used Sarfraz and he was abysmal. He made more mistakes than kamran and couldn't bat for nuts. I would be more confident with kamran at the crease needing 15 off the last over than sarfraz. If we have a gilchrist somewhere than play him, but for now kamran will have to do. I agree Iftikar is not at his best but if you have been watching some of the recent matches you will see he delivered when others failed. and that included Umar Gul. I completely disagree about Abdur Rauf. He just has not been given his chance. In his comeback match he picked up three wickets and was pretty economical. The opening batsmen Salman Butt and Nasir Jamshed are promising there are no doubts about that. Let them build their partnerships and get to know eachother, even if it means losing a whole series, just stick with them or their problems with the openers will continue. What the PCB did with the likes of Rashid Latif, Saeed Anwar and now Abdur Razzaq, Azhar Mahmood, Shahid Nazir and Yasir Arafat is disgraceful if anyone saw some of those guys in action at the ICL, the side would own the current Pakistan side any day. My Pakistan team would be:

splinter_01 (U13104495) posted Aug 20, 2008 sry forgot about Sohail Tanvir, instead of Umar Gul we could use him instead (the selection should train him as a batsmen as well so we can have another decent allrounder. Comment on this article
