Is the Hungarian GP Hamilton's to lose?

Formula One
comment on the article

Lewis Hamilton looks unstoppable after he capped a dominant display in Hungary with his fourth pole of 2008.

The McLaren driver reckons he's in the form of his life and after back-to-back victories at Silverstone and Hockenheim it's hard to disagree.

No-one wants a predictable race in Formula One but Hamilton's record at converting pole to podium top spot is pretty impressive.

He's gone on to win six of the nine races he has previously started on pole and at the tight Hungaroring six of the last 10 places have been won by the polesitter.

Heikki Kovalainen joins Hamilton on the front row to line up in the pairing's first one-two for McLaren.

It would be nice to see the two McLarens fight it out from the start. Team boss Ron Dennis has given them the green light to give it a go but victory will be more important to boosting Hamilton's title claims than those of his team-mate.

Kovalainen says: "I will attack as much as I can at the start and we will see how it works out."

Both Ferrari drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen were left feeling pretty glum after they qualified third and sixth respectively.

Massa believes he still has a good chance of getting past Kovalainen and challenging Hamilton.

But the defending world champion admits he faces an uphill struggle.

Massa's third place in Germany is the team's only podium from the last two races and they must be desperate to turn that around in Budapest.

There could be a few interesting stories amongst the pack too as Nick Heidfeld and Nico Rosberg try to work their way up the field.

What are your predictions for the Hungarian Grand Prix and can we expect any surprises?

Hamilton got a flat tire because of his agressive style. He destroys the tires and has been lucky many times that he didnīt have to finish the race. And as for today Hamilton got lucky cause massa was beating him fair and square.
Alonso is superior to both Hamilton and Massa cause he is the mot intelligent driver there is and also cause he manages to take care of the engine better than Massa Or Hamilton who are always pushing to the limit.

In non team sports we support the best. Andy Murray, Phil "the Power" Taylor, Dame Kelly Holmes, Paula Radcliff ect. We have said nothing about Domestic sport here, were talking International sport

============

Do we? If thats the case, why does DC have any fans?

For those who say Hamilton had bad luck . Please look at the images he got a flat tyre and drove into the gravel thatīs why he ended with a puncture in the car. And he was so lucky ( not unlucky) because he was able to drive the car into the pits..... The ony unlucky guy today was Massa and Hamilton cannot belive how lucky he got.

Also a brilliant race for glock and alonso. Alonso kept the fastest driver behind for almost 50 laps . I would like to see the overhyped british doing the same against Raikkonen but into a renault . Alonso had a brilliant perfomance and with a bit of luck should have finished third...... Kimmy was not able to overtake him..... You just have to compare alonso with kova ( the one who lets Hamilton past ilegaly )

"Notice a trend here, I don't like him due to
1) the hype"

Thats hardly Hamiltons fault. Sure he markets himself a certain way, but he has no control over TV/Press coverage that hypes him up this way. Thats the British media fault, nothing else.

"talent? hamilton is in one of the fastest cars in f1 hamilton isnt that good he makes stupid mistakes and would struggle on a even playing field ie equal cars throughout the field"

Well its obvious your talking out a hole where the sun doesnt shine isnt it? Like him or hate him, saying he has no talent and its all down to the car just shows how little you know about F1.

Having a great car helps (just ask Shumacher), but wthout the talent to drive it to its limit, lap after lap, for 2 hours a day, with all the media work etc and training in between then you may as well be driving one handed. If he didnt have the talent, he wouldnt be scoring any points etc so how about some objectivity through your blinkered views?

"He is simply arrogant"
You find that some of the best sportsman at the top of their fields have that same arrogance. If they didnt they would never be where they are today.

Hamilton haters will look for ANY excuse to slate him, no matter how hypocritical they maybe.

I don't hate Hamilton.
I prefer other drivers.

So what's wrong with that?

Please explain, why I have to explain to you my preference for other drivers?

"Please explain, why I have to explain to you my preference for other drivers?"

You dont. I was referring to your comment about his hype, which as I pointed out isnt really a good reason to not support him since he has very little control over the British press. Our press overhype ANYONE with a modicum of talent so its not exactly Hamiltons fault.

The Hamilton haters comment wasnt exactly directed at you, more towards the obvious people spouting rubbish above us in this thread.

Blue_Phoenix, you are assuming they are reasonable people that's why you are trying to reason with them. But i can tell you that you'll be wasting your precious time with them. They have the hatred inside for whatever reason, and the reasons I'm sure are different for many of them. Hatred its like gastric, if you don't take care of it it turns to ulcer.
I'd let them roast in their hatred. Meanwhile, it was a great race today. Even though Hamilton didn't win, he got the point he needs and i am very happy for Kovy. At the same time i really feel for Massa, but that's the way F1 is!

Fair enough Blue_Phoenix.

I just don't like the implied "you're racist as you don't want Hamilton to win" routine.
