Oxbenji2002 (U1658649) posted Aug 4, 2008 This club has a tradition of 2nd chances. Adams and Merson? ring bells with people? I am not the biggest of Gallas's fans one bit. I think there were better candidates for the job at the time - and his mistakes last season cost us. If we could back Adams in 1996 with his addictions and give him the 2nd chance - can we do the same with Gallas. We could even do the double next year?

themarkyofbath (U1347920) posted Aug 4, 2008 I think its the wrong decision, I do think he's had a few chances so far so this isn't technically a second chance. However, central defenders and central defenders are in the best position to see the game. Hopefully he will improve.

DRUMnBASS-HEAD (U2218630) posted Aug 6, 2008 Gallas should never have been made captain. At the time he came to the club (and even now, IMO) Kolo should have been the number one choice for the captaincy. He’s been one of our most consistent players since joining the squad, plays with pride & passion, happens to be one the best CB’s in the Prem’ and even though still young(ish) has plenty of experience and the respect of his fellow team-mates. He always conducts himself well on pitch and in the media as well.
