If he was English, no one would have wanted him to leave. As you get with the English, its done very subtlely, its ligitimate discrimination.

What a totally stupid comment.

I believe that Gareth Barry is English and is raising the same sort of sentiments among many Villa fans.

I bet you go out looking for paving slabs to trip over so that you can claim compenstion.

I'm lost on that point. If Ade was English, his fans wouldnt want him to leave or we as English fans wouldnt want him to leave the EPL? I dont see the distinction. He is African, a player in the EPL with one of the top clubs in the league. He has scored goals that has led the team to victories mostly, his play has been overall up with those around him, which has led to Arsenal playing some superb football. Just doesn't make one jolt of a difference his colour nor his nationality, he is Adebayor.

His personality is what counts and if it fits in with the team spirit and ethos, good. If it doesn't, then I would imgaine the fans particularly would want him to shape up or ship out. At the moment it sems as if the interest in him had waned and the club issued him with an improved salary rise, keeping him happy. If the fans see that as holding the club to ransom, unsurprisingly they are disgruntled, thinking he thinks he is bigger than he actually is. Others say he's here to stay, welcome him through and get the team flowing as one. The mixed reaction yesterday was neither her or there on that point.

Nothing to do with his nationality.

English or not, that's not the question. Look, how he's playing against Madrid at the moment. Just look and then we talk again. He's useless!

People... Adebayor said he didn't even say that he wanted to leave.. He was on his holidays!!! He didn't hear about it until he got back. So get off his back and support him as he is an Arsenal player and is happy here. If you are a true Arsenal fan then support him as a true Arsenal fan would do!!

I hope this Adebayor debate gets the best out of him. The club has reposed so much confidence in him and we can only expect him to improve on his goal scoring ability in the seasons to come. He says he is happy now, let's give him the chance to repay the gesture...

Has anyone got Adebayor on record saying that he wants to leave? or if he doesn't get more money he'll leave? All I've seen is rumour mill rubbish...

I read an interview last season where he gushed about Wenger, 'he came to Monaco, I hand't scored for a long time but he had faith to spend big money on me...' and I was really impressed by that which made it all the more strange this summers goings on...

But other clubs are going to notice a 30 goal striker who at 24 has his best years to come so cut him some slack, he hasn't done anything wrong as far as I can see.

GREATEST GUNNERS!!!
I think we should be grateful to have a striker of this quality in our squad. After the exit of some key players, Ade's resigning will just help keep up the team chemistry.
We need to support him as fans. Some great players took a while to find their footing and Ade is no different. I think last season was not a fluke and expect a far better season this time around.

Had me looking twice, maybe you should have said 're-signing'!

Ade had no intentions of leaving! This happens in life all the time.

If you're wanted by a rival company that's willing to pay you a better salary for doing the same job, it's a clever move to let your present company know and pretend you're interested. That way your company are forced to improve your contract.
We're already saving money season after season because of Wenger's brilliance in the transfer market, the least club can do when we get these great players in for next to nothing is match the wage structure of other big clubs (if we want to retain our status as a big club that is).

I'm not saying our players are on the breadline but most of them earn a fraction of some of their peers whilst playing the best football in Europe.

He is a decent player and is improving. He is the type of mobile physical front player that Arsenal have lacked for a few years.

Are you kidding me? A certain Monsieur T. Henry might have something to say about that!
