This is Le Guen all over again.

comment on the article

Crap being bought.
Crap expected.
Crap recieved.

I know we're going to fail before a match starts, we then do, we boo if we're there to witness it. Its the exact routine we were in under Le Guen. If Kaunas eliminate us Walter must go, it'll only get worse. If we go through we must splash the cash on 4(atleast) new guys.

I agree about Miller too. Fair enough, he doesn't score alot of goals. But he runs his heart out and creates chances which is what we have been lackin. We need wingers!! Whats happened to Burke? Is he injured? We need him. I know he's not consistent, but he certainly ain't afraid to take on defenders and try wee tricks which is what we need. Walters tactics are shockin aye, and he needs to realise that 50,000 fans do not want to see boring playing for a 0:0 draw games. Instead of bringing in quality midfielders, he jumped straight onto the strikers. Didn't Watty say Davies was a number one priority?? Hmm....3 signings later.....still no Davies. We need him. And Mendes too. He's a good midfielder. Oldish but still has that flair we need. We need a right winger and a left winger who isn't built like a stick and who goes down on the deck like tatties when the wind blows too hard

Its quite simple really just adopt the Scotland style of play not to lose or conceed a goal and hope we are fortunate

He knows he doesnt even have the basics of a team capeable of the simple things in football like passing control and most important putting the ball in the net which is the object of the game for those with their head buried in the sand

We are just a mediocre team from the wee SPL, doesnt say much for the rest eh, and the sooner you all accept it the better

We are going nowhere and it doesnt matter if we go through next week we will get found out in the next match and that includes Falkirk too

Rangers were poor but it is off no suprise.

Even with Ferguson in the team we seriously lack creativity and goal scoring threat.

The sooner the wingers are back the better but we still need a central player with pace, skill and an eye for goal. There must be somebody available.

Even more worrying is that if we get past KAunas, we will have a REAL team to play against in the next round!!

The rangers midfield is laughable really.

We have an ex Scotland manager, who has bought half the Scotland team ( i.e the big physical diddies) and has for the best part of a year and half played us like scotland .

How can a man who's been in the game as long as he has deploy the tactics of sitting tight till half time, hoping not to conceed a goal , then continue for the next 30 mins of the 2nd half doing the same hoping to nick a goal in the last 10 mins . Won't work for a 2nd year.

Because that's what Scotland do and last season was exactly a Scotland season - close but nae Banana and will happen again this year if he doesn't change our style of play.

What they hell do they do at the £14 million academy ?

certainly not freekicks or corners . He needs to change !!!

no place for players like DAILLY, Boyd, Miller, Cousin, BROADFOOT !!! Just not RFC Class

What on earth was Smith thinking putting both Miller AND Darcheville up front. These players are far too similar - all running no goals. He should have mixed it up a bit by starting Boyd up with Miller, at least then we might have got a goal.

And another thing - what's happened to the 20 million we made from europe last season and the 8 million from the hutton sale. Surely we have the finances to sign a quality midfielder for around £5 million, and even a half decent right back for a couple of million, seeing as we have only spent a paltry sum of 6 million on players this summer - of whom only 1 started last night.

We need answers Murray.

So many people on here seem not to understand how football works. Walter would love an open chequebook ain't going to happen.

All the players getting insulted are rangers quality now we can't afford anyone! Mendes is on 30+ k a week how on earth could we afford that.

His tactics work well for the team we have everyone forgets how many players he brought in last season for that 12 million, naismith, burke, ferguson and beasley and cuellar all out at least 3 of them are first team and the other two are first subs in terms of what we lacked last night width.

Personally i think we need at least two wingers and a CM who can create these should be the priority but i don't buy the excuses that they are waiting for the right guys to come along as thats what the scouts should have been doing for months and while seeing someone in real life is great you could at least whittle down from watching dvd's if you can't get to games.

Last night was intolerable as we expected more to be honest it wasn't the lack of skill that annoyed me but the lack of drive and endeavour and the only players that gave any were novo and miller. In the next game can he just play adam up the field behind the strikers more as he has the ability to score and i think this would be his best position as he is the slowest man imaginable so is unsuitable for wide positions now.

Just don't call for the managers head it's not his fault he can't get who he wants (though i think he should have left the davis thing a month ago make fulham sweat and go find another player instead of wasting that time)

I listened to the match online and i am not suprised with the result........... Rangers are AWFUL............ I cant understand how they havent bought a midfielder, dean furman is better than charlie adam, and walter plays him in the middle of the park to dictate the game...... The man cant even deliver a corner....... Watch torres eat us alive on saturday.......!!!!!!!!! Roll on next tuesday, so walter can see that he is to blame for us ending our european run in 1st week of august!!

"We need answers Murray."

Andy I dont think its Murray that is accountable. As far as Iam led to believe the funds are there for player recruitment, its up to the management to find the players that they want to sign.

On this evidence we have only really been linked with a move for another centre half (Loovens).

SDM may have done things in the past few years that may seem like taking money out of the club but the fact is without the measures he has taken we would be in an even worse state. Financially speaking.

Back to the managemnet though, I have said in an earlier post that there seems to be very little scouting going on which for a club operating in the current climate is ridiculous! There are bargains to be had out there we just seem to be inacable of sounding out targets. Not many people had heard of Michael Mols prior to him signing for example.
