David Bentley that is. It's on the ticker thing on the sport homepage. Is this our sweetener Levy? Well, its not that sweet.

And your not including everton in the whole 1-7th discussion why?! We haven't signed anyone yet - They will come, johnson was injured the majority of last season, scored very few goals so he won't be missed. Cahill and Arteta were injured for the majority of the season.
I can't see why - As we finished 5th and played in UEFA cup you'd put the likes of Blackburn, Villa and City above us!!!

Bentley is crap! Suspect temperament, inconsistent, ego laden. What other negative adjectives do you spurs fans want. Why was it that not one of the top 4 teams went for him? Another inconsistent spud to add to lennon et al.

Bentley well we will see I have to say though that it seems some peeps where Modric is concerned forget that he ran the midfield twice against England and impressed in the Euro's..he is class and will make the transition easily... Dos Santos..well that is a different story although Barca didn't want him to leave but he is young and may not settle..who knows?..We got Bostock who cas been outstanding for Crystal Palace so time will tell...

We are heading in the right direction though so the future looks good!! (I did say that last season and twice previous) Oh well no-one can accuse us of glory hunters eh Chelsea fans?? never saw a shirt outside of London until the late nineties

piskiesurfer (U6742203)

"Don't you mean a Bottom 11 club?"
----------------------------
'Bottom 11' would imply we finished 9th last season.

What you've done there, piskiesurfer, in looking to mock Tottenham's league finish last season, is inadvertently elevate our position. Cheers! winkeye

Spurs a top 4 club! Not in the next 10 years. Let's see. This is the management at Spurs. Sell one of their best players for £17m, then spend the 17m on a player who is far inferior to the one the sold.. Basically exchanged a good player for a poor one, and its not like Keane was going on strike if he was not sold! Infact the whole thing must have taken him by surprise.
Now this is the interesting bit. Arsenal pocket £7m from Bentleys transfer! That means that Surs have given away a good player for a poor one, and handed a top 4 side £7m. Arsenal get 7m for a player they (Arsenal) think is not good enough to play for them. Spurs hope to use the same player to make them a top 4 side side?
I think that Spurs will be bottom half end of season and Ramos will leave. Sorry.

completely true comment.Spurs say the same thing every season yawn yawn. very true spurs are improving, but only at the same rate as the top 4 and the rest of the clubs in the prem, i dont see them improving enough to bridge the gap, the only club thats done that in recent years is a few flukey one season 4ths and chelsea, and thats only cus they got abram. sorry again spurs fans but you will have to settle for the intertoto!doh

class player? not a chance. If he was any good Arsenal wouldnt have let him go. He likes to showboat when his team are up and becomes dirty when they're losing. Tottenham are always a threat to the top 4 because at home they're strong, but I cant see the top for changing and thats a lot of money to spend if it doesnt change.

I'm a Spurs fan of 22 years now and I'm not deluded. We've been promised the earth every season and we've spent as much as anyone, every season.

How come we're still striving to be good after all that?

We don't keep our managers and so each new one changes the whole team and off we go again. 8th will be a major achievement - realistically.

But then, I'll get flamed for being realistic rather than optimistic - optimism never scored a goal.
