Still no signingsPremier League Everton by yobosky (U4799492) 28 July 2008 What is going on. Looks like A J is going, which I am a bit disapointed about. We are already short on number before this, so now thats one less. I hope Moyes has got something up his sleeve. He said last week he wants to sign five or six players, I can't see this happening between now and the season kicking off. Vaughn is injured, Vic is away at Olympics, AJ gone leaves us with one striker YAK. Surely we will not start the season with one fit Striker, plus a big lack of numbers in Midfield. I don't think the Youngsters are ready to step up yet, so we must sign some players very quickly or our season could be ruined. Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

therealeverton (U10822719) posted Jul 28, 2008 It's weird to see people taalking as if Moyes is planning to just start the season with the current squad. Of course he isn't. Everton have been working behind the scenes and trying to keep their business out of the papers. As the bid for Moutinho shows work is being done to get the players Moyes wants in. i'm not worried at all. unlike 4 or 5 years ago when Moyes was struggling with very limited funds and a poor recent rep for Everton no one wanted to join us. now players do want to join.

dannyjohn (U4367064) posted Jul 28, 2008 I Trust Moyes fully!!! he is not he type to panic and he will get it right. My only concern is i thought we got off rather lightly last year with regards injuries. I dont think many teams have 2 seasons of light injuries, if so then they are lucky. So we are a bit thin on the ground with the bodys. Mountino and Arteta in the same side makes me smile though!!!! Hope so, it will make my first journey up from wales mouth watering.

numsig (U2394247) posted Jul 28, 2008 Trying badly not to panic, but the transfer market this summer has been a rarity. Clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and Pompey have been having to sell players to fund the new arrivals, and most worryingly there seems a real lack of value available.

king_capello (U12738307) posted Jul 29, 2008 Blues fans don't panic, are we really doubting Moyes after 6 years of brilliant management. I trust him all day and even if we cannot get all of the players we need by end of August, i don't think we need to panic. We have an excellent first 11 plus subs given no injuries now. When we get Moutinho, others will follow without doubt, if not now in Jan, giving the team the extra boost for the 2nd half of the season, unlike last year when we ran out of steam. In Moyes we trust.. EFC 1878

bramptonian (U12784503) posted Jul 30, 2008 I believe that with or without AJ, Everton will remain the same as last year and that is being one of 2 or 3 clubs chasing the big 4 money clubs unless they do get that extra goalscoring strength from midfield. It's doubtful Cahill,Osman,Fernandes or Arteta will accomplish that.
