Shamardal (U12070707) posted Jul 30, 2008 I hope Henry goes for the Irish Champion and New Approach shows up. Good ground, 1m 2f, flat track and we'll find out who the best three year old is. My money would be on Henry.

captainchristy2 (U11044784) posted Jul 30, 2008 Small field races with muddling pace rarely result in truly impressive performances. HTN did enough but Ravens Pass is improving and but for Henry would probably be the best miler in Europe. I think there's a good rivalry here and plaudits to John Gosden for taking him on. I'm sure he'll fancy his chances at Ascot in the QE11 of finding that extra half a length, although the ground may go against both horses come late September. I think NA would beat him over 10f as I think the extra 2 furlongs will blunt his speed, particularly if Bolger is sensible enough to run a pacemaker. Having said that I think we'll see the Duke in the Irish Champion, not Henry.

sensamilia (U11200735) posted Jul 30, 2008 Ravens Pass is very underated, when he gets his ground he is very effective, as proved in its last two runs against HTN and also when destroying a Group 3 field last year at Sandown running a very fast time. if RP could get first run against HTN, he MAY be able to win.
