Monday's gossip column

comment on the article

What would a Monday morning be with out a deluge of transfer gossip from the Beautiful Game?

If you believe the Daily Star then Manchester United could be about to launch an audacious bid to sign the Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
Would they? Would he? I can’t see that one coming to fruition, can you? Arsenal fans would not be best pleased me thinks.

Elsewhere, Luis Saha could be heading out of Old Trafford in a move that would delight many United fans who are simply fed up with the ever-injured front man.

Gareth Barry – love him or hate him, Villa fans? – could be staying at Villa Park with Martin O’Neill set to offer him a 50% salary increase in a new four-year deal. I find that one pretty bizarre but it is being carried in all the papers.

Tottenham, again, are in the market for a goalkeeper, Newcastle want Julio “The Beast” Baptista, and Mark Bresciano is on the market with a number of Premier League clubs ready to swoop.

Take a look at all the gossip: news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foo...

So… what do you make of the day’s rumours and who do you want your team to sign and sell.

The gossip column wants your views!

Yeah just sayin there will soon be 21 year olds running around who have yet to experience a Liverpool title win... as opposed to the 18/19 year olds we have now.

official from the Everton FC website:

Everton have agreed a deal with Fulham to sell Andrew Johnson.

The 27-year-old striker has been given permission to discuss personal terms with the London club with a view to a multi-million pound switch to Craven Cottage.

A Club statement read: "Everton can confirm that it has agreed an eight figure sum with Fulham for the services of Andrew Johnson. This is subject to the player agreeing personal terms and negotiating a medical."

Johnson did not travel with the rest of the Everton squad to the USA for the pre-season preparations in Chicago and Denver.

He was Everton's Club record signing when he arrived from Crystal Palace for £8.6m in the summer of 2006.

He has netted 22 goals from 74 appearances in his two years at Goodison Park.

Absolutly brilliant bit of business from Everton. If you can pick up Moutinho for not too much more than an aditional £5m or so then it'll be a decent bit of wheeling and dealing from Moylesy

Well £19m fo Jo and around £16+ for Bosingwa and Modric would be significant in my book, Though just before the start of August those are litterally the only deals worth shouting about.
