Moutinho and Moyes

Premier League Everton

Do you think that if we are fortunate enough to sign Moutinho it will show Moyesie that the board are there to back him and pave the way for him to sign his contract sooner rather than later?

I believe he will stay anyway as the signing of Steve Round is pointless otherwise but until he does sign an extention i will worry.
Quite a lot could hinge on this signing. Its clear that he is the man Moyes feels he can afford without the price suddenly going up ala Arshavin so were we to fail it could leave Moyes feeling that he cant take us much further.

Or am i just thinking way too much into this?

So many players would love to play for Arsenal but Arsene just don't sign them.
Moutinho would be great for Arsenal style of play and so would most dutch, brazilian, spanish, Portuguese players like Villa, Robben, Ronaldo, Robinho etc
But all they sign is french, too many french, lol

The most important signing Everton will make this year is Moyes. Moutinho would obviously be a welcome addition however I feel he may be bullied a little bit and not get the refs "protection". It is also concerning that the deal seems to rest on sales first.

In response to the comments made by 'TeaTimeAtHarrods', are you for real? Or simply a very frustrated Fulham or QPR fan. For a dull and boring side such as Everton which you are suggesting, its amazing how much history we have, together with solid finish positions in the PL over the last 5 years and please note that this has been achieved with limited budgets and a relatively small squad.

Moutinho would be wise to move to Everton and I am sure it would be a challenge he would relish and also one that would help appease the supporters who have been slightly concerned at the lack of transfer activity thus far. I believe that should this proposed transaction complete, I would also give Moyse the belief that EFC indeed have the capital investment and monies available to push this club even further forward. I don't believe the top 3 teams (Manc Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea) can be pushed all the way this season, however we should be strong enough to push our horrible neighbours all the way in respect of a CL qualification 4th place spot. We need the likes of Moutinho in order to strive forward and to achieve this goal.

Come on You Blues!

PS If by any chance you do work at Harrods, then surely you should have other things to worry about after reading the headlines in the papers over the weekend!!!!!!

I'm a Sporting Lisbon life-long supporter. In the PL though, I support Chelsea. Let me tell you about Moutinho... He was made team captain at the age of 19... He can play holding midfield or attacking midefield equally well. Left or right winger as well... any position in midfield basically... And will also contribute with a few goals.

Good player? Most definately... But we now have a problem with him ... I understand that sooner or later he would leave because he is that good and I think Everton is a good club for him because they want to go places. But he is pushing the board's patience by DEMANDING to leave. That's just not on. His contract clearly says Sporting only have to sell if the proposal was received untill the 15th of June. Is he copying Ronaldo or something?? When are players going to start respecting contracts again????

Chavmaster22:
you're obviously a classy guy, using something like a serious assault to score cheap points on an internet messageboard.
What exactly does sean cahill have directly to do with Everton anyway?
As for long ball... well you obviously didn't watch many of our matches last season.

Personally, i find that any club would be lucky to have Moutinho. Gracious on the ball, a great team player and would compliment Everton (and Newcastle's for that matter) style of play.
