Morning all.

Rangers fan in peace.

Seems that, from the reports that Barcelona were unstoppable last night, even with a 'weakened' team.

I know it was a pre-season etc, but on the plus side for you guys, a lot of the Barca players would have been trying to impress the new boss - and teams with the players they have at their disposal can do that to ANYBODY when they click.

Were they great to watch, Hibs very poor, or as usual when something like this happens a mixture of both?

Thoughts?

Was there ever any doubt on the outcome of the match? In fact, I was a bit surprised Barca didn't win by an even larger margin.

You'd have been forgiven for thinking the Barca lads were at a trining session. I guess it just goes to show the gulf in class between the Spanish and Scottish leagues.

Ridiculously one-sided. Hibs have a lot of work to do!

What can you say? You played against the Gods of football.Just be thankful that they stopped at 6.

I was at the game last night and I have to say even though Barca are amazing! Hibs looked woeful they couldn't even get some of the basics right it was highly embracing, the first half was the stuff of nightmares. The board should have never, never arranged to play Barcelona, Hibs were totally outclassed and this has to demoralize the team. I feel demoralized not only as a hibs fan but a fan of Scottish football, last night just showed just how big the gulf in class really is. On a more positive note Thicot looked good hopefully Hibs sign him as he was (practically) the only one who didn't look completely out of his depth.

As A Hibs fan I have to say I am really concerned for the season ahead. we have played 6 matches not scored a goal and conceded 12 or 13. We (the gready board) will sell Steven Fletcher and at least one other player and not spend a penny to strengthen the team for the season ahead. Mixu has said he had to trim the squad so he let 4 or 5 players go and has only signed a reject from somewhere or other.
When you consider that after 9 games under Johm Collins we had 21 points and finished the season with only 52 (31 points from29 games)I think we are in a real bad way. How can a manager come out after his team were humped 6-0, arguably by one of the best club teams in the world, that it has not dented his players confidence?. as said before the board should never have agreed to play this match and let their players suffer such humiliation before they had half a dozen friendlies under their belts. It has obviously got to do with money. I bet the board made a couple of hundred thousand pounds from the game and have once again put greed ahead of the general welfare of the team and its supporters. We used to laugh at the "biscuit tin " mentallity of Fergus Mccann an Parkhead but we are no better. The supporters are being subjected to the "crisp packet" mentality of the Easter Road board and by the end of the coming season home crowds will have plumited from 13,500 to around 8,500 and by then we`ll have nothing left to sell to make up the shortfall. It`s almost enough to make you start supporting Hearts - but not quite!!
