Thursday's gossip column

comment on the article

So, Tottenham are ready to let striker Dimitar Berbatov join AC Milan for a cut-price £25m to stop the Bulgarian going to Manchester United. Well, that's what The Sun says anyway.

Liverpool and Aston Villa remain at loggerheads over the transfer of Gareth Barry. (Will they ever reach agreement over the England midfielder?)

Meanwhile, Everton boss David Moyes is planning to spend the money from the sale of Andy Johnson on £20m-rated CSKA striker Wagner Love, and Blackburn goalkeeper Brad Friedel looks set to join Aston Villa if, as expected, Paul Robinson moves to Ewood Park.

In other news, Carlos Tevez has claimed Manchester United should grant team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo his wish and let him join Real Madrid.

And Lord Moynihan, chairman of the British Olympic Association, says Great Britain must field a football team in the London 2012 Games.

Today's gossip can be found in the usual place.

Let us know your thoughts.

Sooo many fools on the boards today. Obviously not football fans.

Anyone who goes around insulting people and trying to drill home a point like a little child over the internet should really take a step back and look at themselves and ask themselves "why do I persist in trying to make myself look like a schoolboy"

I believe most of you have been bullied in the past and for some reason feel the need to try and act like a hard man over the internet as you were incapable of standing up for yourselves when it counted.

Stop trying to make yourselves look like your intellegant when you quite frankly are showing the complete opposite.

Quite pathetic really when people try to be keyboard warriors

By the way it’s ‘you’re’ not ‘your’ and you spelt 'intelligent' wrong. Talk about irony. doh I thinks perhaps you’re the one who’s the little illiterate schoolboy. laughlaughlaugh

I saw u lot picking on Arsenal and couldn't resist. useless captain, crap playmaker and a greedy african striker who scores in 1 in 8 chances.

Two best players left-one for free and 1 for cheap 2 Barca

Arsenal for 4th place-lower than crap Liverpool
----------

Why persist in comming out with useless nonsense like this? Adebayor has a better shot/goal ratio than Ronaldo. Only Torres beats him in the league doh

Flamini and Hleb our best players doh

Crap playmaker? You mean the playmaker that is in the Europes top 23 list ahead of all Man Utd outfield players. The playmaker that is the young player of the year. The playmaker that all the top clubs want? doh

Pfft even SAF has claimed it was down to bad luck that we finished four points behind a fully fit man Utd squad, without a midfield for over three months doh

Once again point proven. Being pedantic is the lowest form of humour. Once again trying to act the big man. I take it you take writing correctly and using the right punctuation an a internet forum very seriously. Not much else to be doing? ahhh yes school holidays.

Anyone who gets that wound up over a bit of internet banter really needs to grow up a bit and take it on the chin like a man.

But then I think I've only come across 2 Arsenal fans who can actually do that. The club must rub off on them

If it’s useless nonsense then why do you get so wound up about it? Seems to me that you like to dish it out but you can’t take it.

By the way, I noticed you didn’t disagree with the ‘useless captain’ comment. Well how could you? It would be pretty hard to defend somebody who sits down and cries like a little girl in the middle of the pitch when decisions don’t go his way. Pathetic!

I am not wound up. Hence no use of mockery or anger in my typing unlike what many people on these boards resort too.

I just find it quite ridiculous that this is supposed to be a forum for football fans to debate. It however continually turns into a slagging match that you would associate with a schoolgirls hockey match.

606 used to be a plesent area for debate but all debate is defunct with pettiness.

I could resort to your level of debate. I could go on all day with your players like that. I however choose not to do so as it is niether constructive or relevant.

I could go on and on about how all Man Utd fans are glory hunters, or how you are a feeder club for Real Madrid and how your boy wonder Rooney cannot cope wit hthe big time and loses the plot and kicks part timers. Its not difficult to come out with nonsense like that.

But YOU’RE more guilty of that than most! You only have to look at some of your comments on these boards over these last months to see that. Virtually every Man Utd discussion on these boards seems to have some pithy comment from you on it. You’re supposed to be an Arsenal fan. Why don’t you concentrate on your own team instead of spending all your time crying about Man Utd. Like I said, POT. KETTLE. BLACK.

So Kuyt has pleaded for Robbie Keane to go to Anfield? (daily star). Fancies a seat on the bench then does he? Rubbish.

Re: Gunning for the Top (formerly Walcott for England)

>>Pfft even SAF has claimed it was down to bad luck that we finished four points behind a fully fit man Utd squad, without a midfield for over three months

===========================

LOL he’s humouring you. As an Arsenal fan doesn’t it worry you that your biggest, most hated rival of the last 15 years is actually saying good things about you? That, to me, suggests that Sir Alex doesn’t consider you a major threat anymore. Ha ha, round 1 of the psychological mind games to Sir Alex. He’s got you gooners wrapped around his little finger to the extent that you’re actually using his quotes to defend yourselves. laughlaughlaugh

BTW, that’s NOT what SAF said at all. He never said anything about Man Utd’s squad being fully fit (because they weren’t) nor did he say that Arsenal were without a midfield for over three months (again, because they weren’t) What he actually said was:

“It has been understated what Arsenal achieved last season. They suffered injuries at a bad time. In February they lost most of their midfield.”

See the difference? Everything else is just you deliberately misquoting and embellishing things as usual to suit your gooner-tinted view of the world. You’d do well to read the article tips on the 606 homepage:

- Choose a subject you are knowledgeable about.
- Check your facts - getting the basics wrong devalues your article.
