Three clubs given A grade licences

Super League
comment on the article

Three clubs - Leeds Rhinos, Hull FC and Warrington - have been given category A licences by the Rugby Football League.

The 14 clubs who have been given a three-year licence to compete in Super League from the 2009 season are graded as either A, B or C standard.

Bradford, St Helens and Wigan have been awarded B grades with the remaining eight sides judged to be C category.

"The three clubs that received A grade licences deserve special commendation," said RFL chief executive Richard Lewis.

Are you surprised by the grades or is it what you expected?

Widnes must be gutted. To think that they were the first WORLD CLUB CHAMPIONS and are steeped in history. It's a kick in the face. Still, the RFL were completely predictable.

Wigan didn't get an "A" grade because the RFL don't like them.

RL will probably never eatablish it self on the world stage like football & RU
-------------------

Ha ha ha, RU? World Stage?? Don't make me laugh. There are only 10 countries that play it that you can take seriously and then a couple more get dragged in to make the numbers up come "World" Cup time.

Saints community work is second to none - not "bismal" as JB 1973 states. Wigan did not get A Grade status for obvious reasons - blatant disregard of the salary cap rules. The only reason Saints did not get A Grade was because of their stadium - something which will be rectified in style by 2012!

We may all rant on about CC geting a franchise but what have Salford brought to the table that Widnes and Leigh have not? The criteria may as well have just been thrown out the window. The RFL may as well just put who they want in.

A total foul-up by RFL again it is about time Rugby Leauge went back to the roots of the game
so the fans can enjoy the game again.
