Sam Burgess will undergo major shoulder surgery on monday and miss the rest of the bulls season, and the World cup, according to the T & A.
Devastating for Sam, the Bulls and England.

Real shame for Sam - he has great potential and I hope the surgery is successful and he can come back stronger next year.

Hang on, if he's injured enough to require surgery, why's he still playing now?! Get him surgery--ised and then he can play for England because Bradford won't miss him; they're going nowhere this year anyway!

Real shame for Sam the Bulls and England but those who know the game and its injuries will know you can play on a while with some injuries without doing permanent damage, Sam is having his surgery now so he can recover in time to do a full pre-season with the Bulls, if he waited until after the world cup he would be fit halfway through next season, I remember Sonny Bill Williams having a similar dilemma a couple of seasons ago, Sam Will benefit in the long run and come back stronger.

He would have been a target in the England setup. The Aussies love these up and coming stars

Yes he would have been targeted and i am not sure who would be around to "look after him" in a subtle way.we only seem to have forwrads who loose it quickly and get themselves sent off.
