Hulse/Henderson

Sheffield United
comment on the article

We sold Hulse becauce of our vast amount of striker but in my opinion I think that after a full pre season Rob Hulse would have been back to his best. Yes Henderson may have scored more last season but didn't he play more??

Another point Blades. How many goals did Henderson get in the Premier League

ONE (against West Sham)!! Which is nowhere near the 8 Hulse scored

So what league is Blackwell planning for us to be in because no way is Henderson Prem Class like Hulse

IF HE SIGNS I DO HOPE HENDERSON PROVES ME WRONG!!

The Blunts don't have him yet Birmingham,Cardiff and us mighty Wolves are in the hunt.Cardiff seem to have pulled out saying the price has gone too high.
Henderson is the player that you don't want to play against big quick and always tries his best throw in a bit dirty. He batters defences and leaves scoring opportunites for other skilled players to finish.
You need someone skillful to play alongside him, something that Watford lacked although he did get about 15 for them.
He would be a good fit for the three teams chasing him.

I put this on pixie's article earlier.
----------------------------------------
I have a feeling we've duped Derby into a good fee for Hulse. He wasn't the same Rob Hulse last season as we saw in the PL and i think his injury will tell on him over a full season.
I think KB has seen no change in him in the friendlies, and that's why he's let him go so easily. He isn't going to admit it to the media,is he?
As for Henderson,he's a good CCC player but not worth the reported £2.5M being banded about. Also,If Shelton goes then we will only have 4 strikers, that's not enough for a full season and Webber is injury prone.Sharp is still to prove himself, goals wise,so we WILL need to bring another one in who can add goals.

Finally, why is the Cotterill deal taking so long? We didn't need to wait for Hulse to go to help finance the deal.McCabe gave KB £12M to spend.

Hendo was at his best playing alongside a classy striker with skill and pace which King was plus Young.

He was much like the rest of our team last season though and actually probably spent more time "fighting" than playing which was a shame.

If you want anyone off us its probably Tommy Smith.

Hi Derby fan here, hate to say it, feel you have done one over on us, to get up 2mill on an injury prone, 29 year old, who is still getting back to fittness and only has one year on contract is amazing buisness, aspec when we would not do that for our top target

but still feel hulse is a good target man,(which we really needed) with good record

Also do not know about Hen, but did not take watford fans word as gold, they have been highly critical of any player who has moved on, though as derby would love smith back (just look at my Profile)

Also how is stead doing for you, he only scored 3 goals for us, but still made himself a fans fav on his short loan and many where amazed and gutted when you got him

"they have been highly critical of any player who has moved on"

I can see your point because a lot of fans are like that but to be fair Ellington and Stewart were pretty poor for US last season like a lot of players.

To be honest you won't get many people saying good things about our team...even those players that are here apart from Smithy and some of the newer players.

I personalyl thought Ellington wasn't played enough but did play poorly in an underperforming side and it was not his fault we paid 3.5 million!

I think it might have been better to have got Henderson BEFORE letting Hulse go.

Hulse is in no way Premiership class. The fact he is signing for Derby proves this. He hasn't got any pace, isn't that good at heading for a big man and dives a lot. I think at £1.75M Sheffield Utd are laughing. I mean at least Henderson is good in the air, and isn't lazy, which is another great quality in Hulse. They have similar finishing abilities, so the price Utd would have to pay for Henderson is what determines whether the deal is good or bad.

I really do think Henderson will do well at the lane.

He is proven in the championship, he scored 13ish goals in a hoofball team last year.

And i think we all know Hulse will never be the same. 2 mil is very good business indeed.

Hendo will push Beatts much more thn Rob could.

Now we just need Cotts and one other. Then we're going up!

UTB! ok

i am inclined to agree with Staboblade and say that the rob hulse we were trested to last season was not the player we saw during our premiership period. this was obviously one of blacwell's deciding factors in letting him go, (even though personally i would have prefered him to at least let hulse regain full fitness before making a final decision), and also it was always going to be hard to turn down a fee of almost £2m for a player who is potentially injury-prone.
as for henderson, i have never been a great admirer of him as a player, but i must admit he does work hard for a team, and obviously has some other worthy attributes, otherwise the blades and other big championship clubs would not be interested in him. it will be interseting to see how the proposed transfer turns out, and if he is worth the money being touted.
as a last remark i would love to see cotterill be signed before splashing the cash on strikers as whoever we buy will not be able to score without good service!
