Can Fermanagh finish the job?

comment on the article

Underdogs Fermanagh earned a replay against Armagh in a thrilling Ulster football final at Clones.

The Erne men spurned a number of chances in the second half before three points secured a replay at Clones.

The pundits on television have been saying Fermanagh have missed their big chance to win a first-ever provincial title.

Are they right? Or are Armagh not quite the force some make them out to be?

Do Armagh rely too heavily on Stevie McDonnell for their points?

Will Fermanagh's hunger for Championship win the day?

Again, no opinions on the politics here... When I saw the flag, I thought it was fairly obvious they weren't from the Orange Order, but I also thought it was a bit strange for nationalists from the Garvaghy Road to describe themselves as Orangemen. But there you go. Thanks for that. I wouldn't have a clue how many members of the unionist community would follow Gaelic Games, but I know a few in Fermanagh who wouldn't care about the sport itself, but follow Fermanagh's progress, and hope that they win. It's probably exactly the same in most other northern counties, especially when they're playing teams from the south.

Fermanagh should have one this game, They throw the game away in the last 10 minutes,
They will want to play better in midfield,
There Midfield were out of it in the first half,They will need to play for 70 minutes. not 35 minutes, The Manager should have seen this and made the change before half time, Go and attact Armagh before half time,
What a big mistake they made,
As the result of this mistake, they have now missed the boat big time.

Fermanagh lost it in midfield - not sure I know what game you were watching? We won 11 out of 13 kickouts in midfield and McGrath doled out a masterclass to Mcgrane and co. the whole way through the game. You may want to review the match stats.

many pundits fear Armagh have blown their chance, 8 point in front and failed to hold out, indeed lucky to get a second chance...fermanagh`s now undoubted self belief, fast flowing game and better fitness levels over 70 mins may just be the deciding factor....will be monitoring events closely from oversea....come on Fermanagh this is your time...biggrin

The number 1 thing in winning a game is having a free taker! Usually what happens is during practice each night, you know who 2 give the job 2 at the end of the week? fermanagh did not go with this 2day, are for that matter last week, and cost them dearly, they are are good team from the back line up, but have no forwards! Doherty I was surprised was not played 2day? But gluck to yez next week.

A poor game it must be said. I lost count of how many scorable frees fermanagh missed.this was to be their downfall in the end, eight points just aint good enough to win a provincial final. I thought Armagh found an extra gear in the last 15 minutes and the goal rounded off a laboured win for us! another Ulster in the bag but I still think the Dublin or corks are too strong for us on that showing.
