Sunday's Gossip Column

comment on the article
Kaka

Kaka, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gareth Barry - it's the usual suspects dominating today's transfer gossip.

Depending which paper you read (or believe) Chelsea will pay AC Milan anything from £50m to a whopping £119m for the Brazilian - whichever way you look at it, it's a world record.

Adebayor is demanding £100,000-a-week to stay at Arsenal but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has ensured fans the Togo international is going nowhere.

And Barry may miss out on a move to Liverpool if Rafael Benitez fails to offload Xabi Alonso.

Also today, outspoken Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has launched an astonishing attack on the stae of today's game. Among his targets were Cristiano Ronaldo, Frank Lampard, Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini.

Do you agree with Jordan? Will Kaka go to Chelsea? These points and more are up for debate so get involved and have your say.

Juventus are to launch a £15million bid for Arsenal's Robin Van Persie, who they see as an ideal replacement for Pavel Nedved
---------

Nedved is a midfielder, Van perie is a strikerdoh Thiago Neves should be Nedved's replacement. Both have great work ethic, Both footed, Technically good, And has a ferocious shotok

Well, how could I not have a comment on the hilarious point that Capello and Ericsson are staying in the same hotel in SA?

It is good that they have targeted and booked their hotels. It may get tight with hotels during that time in SA. It is a little unfortunate that it turns out that it is the same hotel, but what the heck, it is OK. Even if their teams do not make it for some reason, obviously, they are going to be there anyway to hang out.

This is the kind of bizzare and baseless reporting that takes the cake. However, I do not blame these two foreign coaches who ended up plying their trade in England. This is how the British journalism is: since they have been kicked out of the euro2008 finals, they have already been partying thinking that they are going to WIN world cup 2010.

Good luck to all of you. Thanks.

I laughed at this on the gossip page:

"Dimitar Berbatov has been fined a week's wages by Tottenham manager Juande Ramos for being moody on the club's pre-season jaunt to Spain. (The People) "

It reminded me of an ironic saying of an old ex-military friend - "all leave is cancelled until morale improves "

Chelsea won't Get Kaka, definitely not. Also, I very much doubt they will get Robinho either, they are wasting their time in my eyes.

As a Motherwell fan I think Celtic or Rangers should consider Eidur Gudjohnsen or Louis Saha. Champions League football is likely to tempt these players so why don't the Old Firm take a chance. I know players of this quality will likely cause Motherwell and every other SPL team problems, but at the same time I like to see top pedigree players in Scotland to help further promote our league.

Liverpool will again struggle to make the top 4 and I'm sure Gerrard and Torres are getting fed up as well - on their massive wages - on the failure of the Americans to provide money. If I was Rafa and Gerrard and Torres I would move on cos the Yanks havent got the money to move the club up a level to compete with Man U and Chelsea.

Feel sorry for the scouse supporters.

Hleb was a great dribbler - best in Premiership but didn't score enough goals - pleasing on the eye but didn't deliver enough. Wenger is clever, along with Sir Alex the best. If he gets Arshavin then watch this space.
